Good to see Rogers (West Aussie - not former anchor)given a chance. Surely Dave Warner must be on thin ice - hasn't set the world on fire lately. Hope he comes good....very quickly. Last thing I want to see is a bunch of smarmy Poms!

My 1st test team in batting order:

Rogers
Watson
Cowan
Hughes
Clarke
Kawaja
Haddin
Siddle
Pattinson
Starc
Lyon

Although good performances from Faulkner and/or Harris in this game could bring either into contention to replace Siddle, who appears a bit short of a gallop ( strange that he is not playing in this game). Don't think the Aussies can afford a 5 man attack given the frailty of their batting. As for Warner, how can they pick him when he hasn't had any match practice?

Harris 'HAS' to play!! Leave Lyon out, go with 4 pacemen and I don't know about James Faulkner being in contention really

Promising signs with Watson and Rogers batting through to lunch albeit against a moderate county attack. But even so, good going.

Definitely agree with the decision to open with Rogers but I am still not sold on Watson as an opener. Too me he just plants that front foot of his forward & is a massive candidate for LBW to Anderson & co. It's time for this perennial under achiever with the bat to as they say in the classics to "pull his bloody finger out"!!

Good to see Rogers get a game. Not a fan of Cowan. A real 70's batsman with no flair.
