The SANFL has financial incentives for experienced players to remain in the SANFL when they reach milestones. Very very smart and something that WAFC should be implementing in the WAFL. Surely?

More than a quarter of a million dollars was spread among 52 players in the SANFL in 2024. WOW!!! No wonder Rhokar wants to leave SD and go back the SANFL.

It could be funded by the fines from salary cap breeches.

Your club is next chips. In all seriousness there is a lot of merit in what the SANFL does. Should be done here.

Rohkar hasn't returned to the SANFL. He has returned to SA for personal reasons and hasn't signed with anybody.

No chance the 2024 Sandover medal winner isn't playing in 2025. Swans just playing hardball.

WAFL is a joke compared to SANFL, ours is a decrepit steam train competition living in the 1930s, SANFL has huge revenue streams a lot of public interest and media coverage.

I agree. The SANFL has always done plenty to strengthen its league. The WAFC on the other hand purely sees the WAFL as breeding ground for the AFL and nothing else. Its a shame because the sport of Australian Rules football would overall be stronger if it could boast more than one professional league (ie the AFL). The SANFL pulls its weight in offering an alternative stage to players. Its a shame the WAFL can't offer a bit more - too many players see the amateurs as a better option. Especially as reserves players don't get paid there's little incentive for them to hang around if they can get paid in a lesser league.

Do not waste your valuable breath waiting for the WAFC to support our local game , the WAFL league one.

Unless it is that pair of wanker Victorians Sheehan & Ablett's recommendations or the WAFLW you will see absolutely no movement to actively sink investment into our precious competition

Only time they will be seen is the usual freebie at Burswood or treks to attend VFLW / WAFLW matches (where the hands go out for nourishment)

some salaries exceed or nudge the club total player cap and they barely have the skill or desire to run that shitpoor WAFL website that crashes routinely when 5 or more people get onto it

Pack of good for nothing fleas , worthless pillowbiting pillocks the lot of them

Unfortunately, footy isn’t the only thing that is making our league look like the Marble Bar football league. (Apologies to Marble Bar).  Things are happening in SA, but what’s happening here?

SANFL clubs have a huge amount of financial independence via gambling revenue, and from selling off the AFL licenses, ours on the other hand are beggars at the table getting a few crumbs to fund an embarrassing low salary cap, that some clubs get hammered for breaching while other walk away with a stern warning.
