Heard on the telegraph wire the perth lord mayor is thinking of joining the liberal party and running for a state seat in the next election? The seat of Churchlands has been mentioned. Probsbly a nice easy safe seat. I think that area is Wembley Downs/ Scarborough or somewhere there. Heard some months ago he was considering. Apparently has another 1 or 2 months to register. Still a bit of time tomake a final decision.

I have no doubt he will run for the Liberal Party , but the Libs winning the next election is virtually impossible due to the huge amount of seats Labor are sitting on, they will win a big chunk back but will take two elections to turn it around.

God help us please no. The guys incredible ego will most likely dictate that he will if enough people pump his tyres up with Yaya leading the chorus if she is still alive. Biggest howler of all time as an MC at the 2021 GF when he forgot to invite the winning coach to the microphone. Absolute howler of the century by a country mile.

I’m sure he goes to sleep listening to tapes of his own voice.

Yep..agreed Baz.  To be honest I wouldn't want he Libs to win the next election because they'd have too many rookies in Cabinet and could make some almighty stuff ups.  Far better to make big in-roads into the current imbalance, spend a term in opposition and watch Cook and his plodders continue to implode.

Well most pollies are driven by ego so Big Nose will fit right in. He's always had a plan for his career path, the Lord mayor is just a stepping stone. He's actually a good fit for the Libs, still young, has a high profile, can speak well at times but needs to put the brain into gear before the mouth opens sometimes. He will need to rein in his ego for starters if he gets in as there will be plenty of bigger ego's already there to mcut him down especially on the Cooked pinko side.

a mouth that doesn't close and an over inflated high opinion of the world less than 50 cm from itself that has suddenly decided politics is it's ticket to glory
a perfect choice when you look at it

He couldn't be any worse than the deadbeats currently running the show. I mean, how does a bloke get the sack from being Health Minister suddenly be promoted to the top job? It's a rhetorical question as we all know how it happened. It's because the unions said so. You couldn't make this stuff up. Unions representing less than 15% of the workforce are running this country both on a state by state basis and federally.
