One of the great things about him was he had a certain amount of humility. I never saw him carry on like a pork chop when he took a wicket. He had a streak of narcissism, but in retrospect, who doesn't?

Another tragic loss of a cricket legend. The outpouring of grief from so many of his rivals, all great players from other cricketing nations is a testament to the man and how he carried himself on the field. As someone said, 3 great characters of the game gone in recent times, something that is sadly missing in these PC times of sporting robots.

And what a disgusting effort by the anti-vaxer tinfoil hat brigade to post pathetic claims that he died due to the vax just minutes after his passing was announced. These people have no shame to go with their complete lack of brains and empathy, if there's any justice they will suffer horrendously from a bad dose of covid.

Agreed SS, very poor form of people to assume things without facts, but I can understand their concerns -

They need to wait for the facts, rather than assumptions. Such as this -

My friends hubby dropped dead from a massive heart attack whilst on holiday with his family in bali in 2018, 40yo. As did my uncle whist teaching at school many years ago aged 45, no warning signs for either of them. My advice lads is go get a coronary calcium scan if you haven't already, about $150 at xray clinics. I haven't had one myself as yet but that's only because it is actually a ct scan and I have had far too many of them so am a bit worried about the level of radiation in them and in my body, but if you have had zero or minimal ct's then get one done if over 40 imo.

RIP legends of the game

I am going to have to admit I had to read a couple of reports simply because I couldn't believe it at first - a champion player who just got unreal amounts of turn out of pitches
Just a wee bit too young to go I think and a real loss to sport in Australia
RIP Warney you gave a lot of people great amazement & joy

Shane Warne's sudden passing is dreadful news in a year that, so far, has had very few upsides.
Hopefully, Warnie, Marshy and Deano are propping up the bar in paradise.
We've lost a lot of former Test cricketers before their time in recent years.
Eerily, quite a few have been spin bowlers - Shane Warne, Ashley Mallett, Terry Jenner, Tony Mann, Bruce Yardley, Bob Holland and John Gleeson all went before their time.
And although Richie Benaud made it to 84, he was the type of bloke who I thought would, metaphorically, go on forever.

Reports are revealing he had seen a doctor before he went on holiday complaining about chest pains and has a history of heart problems. Also a lot of blood was found in his room. Possibly coughing up blood before the heart attack.
Get on your bike.

Sadly Warnie with his diet and lifestyle, was a walking advertisement for that 40-60 yr old cardiovascular at risk population.....for a fella who loved having folk around him 24/7 it was a very sad way to die....hopefully it was very quick and he didn't know too much about it........be interested to see if Warnie had had a Pulmonary Embolism(PE)...just come off a long haul flight.....wouldn't surprise me with Warnie's multitude of CVD risk factors
