No WA afl teams playing this saturday and 3 teams have a bye. I honestly wonder if the people in charge at the wafc are deliberately trying to kill the wafl. Swans seem to have a bye every second week. Swans would have got one of their biggest crowds of the year this weekend if they were playing at home.

This 'competition' is fast becoming a joke.

I'm pretty sure i posted this in the wafl thread. Why would it be moved here? It is a post about wafl after all.

Who knows bazza (swansandsouth). Good to see you here. Hopefully the site won't be over moderated but it's not my site so they can do what they want. I was a moderator on footygoss and used to moderate anchorman for his anti-wafl posts so I'm probably being a bit hypocritical.

Swans are playing Subiaco twice in 3 weeks whereas they played East Fremantle in round 1 and the two teams don't meet again till round 23! I'm sure other teams have similar anomolies. Seems completely random

I agree Mike, and the thing is last weekend showed that with a bit of careful fixturing the wafl can still pull decent crowds. Yet the people in charge continually balls it up. I also don't think it would hurt the wafl to fixture the odd game on a Sunday if it meant avoiding the eagles/dockers. I personally would love to go to Basso on a sunny Sunday arvo occassionally but it never happens. I know the players prefer Saturday but it wouldn't hurt every now and then.

With all due respect Goodie, I think the vast majority of WAFL spectators prefer the Saturday games (public holidays excluded). Also, I think a major consideration should be the players' views as well.

If it is bizarre we play Subiaco again Saturday week; how about later in the year when we have a game against Peel, followed by a bye and then play Peel again. No further comment is required.

Yeah agree swan the overwhelming majority prefer Saturday, whenever we have a Sunday game it is an abject flop, the bar takes a hiding as well, as hardly anyone has a few beers and virtually no body stays back like a Saturday night.
