MMM it is a bit like that at the moment but I wonder if the divisions are just abt the pandemic or just rising to the surface as a result of it.

You could look at the VFL/AFL saga, the NSW dominance of test cricket for a long time and now Gladys with the cricket to show QLD they can do sport even tho' Rome is burning! And that is without really including the the GST or the fact that many still believe we still ride on the sheep's back.

Parochialism is quite embedded in our collective psyche.

You would think people would understand this is a global pandemic and it’s the time to unite not divide the country.
Getting caught up in politics instead of focusing on the issues is a worry and people who are sucked in by political decision making and newspaper bias to boost sales doesn’t help

MO yep it is a world wide issue but the question I have for you is - who do we look to for leadership in he WW issue.

The UK like we have before and many still see as the mother country and maker of all things better, perhaps the US is the one, China might be good for the obvious reasons and the more obvious reasons against,

I think we are better off being insular but we need, desperately need leadership from on high ( and do not from the book of fables and its followers). Where is a Fraser, Whitlam or Hawke when we need them, even Menzies or Curtain.

Unfortunately the closest we have on this side of the great sandy is .......

when five other States shut their doors , one could be excused for thinking that there would be scrutiny from within by the two affected States and maybe a possible shift

at this point I'm struggling to fathom why quarantine control points are actually being breached - been quite a few months' worth of incidents now to get it right

the one that let it out again in NSW is bloody scary and that's just the truth

How is it that Gladys and the "health" Hazzard can limit outdoor gatherings to no more than 2000 people and yet reckon it's ok for 20k plus to attend the SCG for a test match?

BC; on the same logic that the Polish woman let a whole VFL season into her rugby league state.

seems out and out bizarre to me , why hold a super-spreader event?

NSW seems odd though they have a lot of outbreaks but don't seem to explode anything like Victorians disaster, they seem to be doing something right.
