Lets be honest here, financially we have become way too dependent on China and we have all benefited from it one way or another but it's got the point now where they have taken advantage of our openness, our hospitality and our trust and now they are downright being rude, disrespectful and extremely cocky. And we Australians do not put up with assholes, never have and never should regardless of the economic costs.

It is time we move on from China, the honeymoon is over, the marriage is unreconcilable and we need to move on and establish new relationships with good people.

I say that respectfully to Chinese people but unfortunately your CPP are a bunch of power tripping cronies with no respect for anyone else but themselves. They act like spoilt little children and should be treated as such. They are alien to the rest of the world except those who seek to exploit the benefits of aligning with China.

China no longer deserves our respect, as they have demonstrated total and complete lack of respect to Australia since the Corona Virus pandemic which has wrecked untold damage on the world and those muppets take offence to our Prime Minister having the balls to do what I expect my Prime Minister to do and that is seek answers how this started through an independent investigation.

China has since acted like spoilt brats and deliberately sought to hurt our economy further as if the corona virus hasn't already done untold damage to our lives and now they have sunk to new lows using our own honest and open investigation into war crimes by our own servicemen in Afghanistan which we are all appalled by, and produced a fake image of an Australian soldier about to slit the throat of an Afghan child holding a lamb. Could you seriously stoop any lower?

I think our media and governments need to step right away from China and stop broadcasting this so called Chinese Foreign Minister speaking down to us Australians like we are their subordinates. They have lost our respect and we should turn our backs on China and take back what is ours and strip them of their rights to own anything in Australia.

They have taken advantage of our goodwill and abused it. Enough is enough.

DD your not wrong in much of what you say but, we need to be smart and not cut of our noses to spite our face as the saying goes. Right or wrong many many people and industries rely on our trade with China for their living, working for companies that do business with these wankers, so any knee jerk reaction needs to be carefully considered. I dont know if your work relies in any way shape or form on our trade with China, but if it did, you could be personally affected, losing your job, so we need to think about those that will bear the brunt of any further actions by China. Once the vaccines come on line, most of Europe and North America can start thinking about other things besides surviving the virus, once they do it will be a world wide torrent of condemnation against China, something they cannot ignore but it needs to be a strong united consistent approach so they are left in no doubt that their actions will affect their economy and security. Just today, NZ's PM joined the chorus of condemnation against these lurid fake photos, GB has already done the same, so momentum is building.

The only country to feel China's wrath is Norway. In 2010 Norway nominated a Chinese political dissatent for a Nobel Peace Prize.
That started a 6 year Chinese trade ban on Norway.Given that Norway have a lot less of what China need.Compared to Australia.
China's tough stance on Australia is costing them. There North American coal is 25 % more expensive. The Argentine Hops and grain is also well over the AU price.
A clear warning for AU exporters to look elsewhere.I personally thing this federal government was stupid picking a blue with China. Not to many country have our back.UK-NZ + Germany

I find it absolutely laughable that these pricks can have the gaul to comment on Australia’s treatment of anyone given their record of inhumanity. Their “re-education” camps, detention centres and the treatment of certain religious groups. Anyone of note that makes a comment against the “government “ suddenly “disappears”. I could go on about their inhumanity to man, but everyone here would have seen or read them. Just a quick read....

We don’t have to and should not take their arrogant, childish bullying. I can only dream of what Oz would be like for our grandchildren with these twats in command.

And here they go again. Australia compared to the Nazis? I think it’s funny....they’re just proving to the world what a bunch of knobheads they are. They’ll be losing any and all credibility they may have had.

Their methods of trying to shame Australia are laughable and will be seen as such by the rest of the world, total lack of sophistication, the obviously doctored fake photo would have done Trump proud and the Nazi reference is just purile. As Britain comes out of the virus with their vaccinations about to start , we will see more pressure on this recalcitrant regime.

ScoMo has quite cleverly used Chinese owned WeChat platform to reach out to the Chinese community to let them know the “Chinese community “ have not been diminished in the eyes of Australia by recent statements between the two countries.

Won’t be long before the owners of WeChat are told to remove the Australian Prime Minister from their platform including his comments. Lol

...And the comments of NZ's O'Connor are certainly not helpful as reported in the media. Sounds like our Trans Tasman neighbours are well and truly in xipings pocket.

China is on the rise. If you doubt this, just read the following:

# When you total up all imports and exports, China is now the number one
trading nation on the entire planet.

# Overall, the U.S. has run a trade deficit with China over the past decade
that comes to more than 2.3 trillion dollars.

# China has more foreign currency reserves than anyone else on the planet.

# China now has the largest new car market in the entire world.

# China now produces more than twice as many automobiles as the United States does.

#After being bailed out by U.S. taxpayers, GM is involved in 11 joint
ventures with Chinese companies.

# China is the number one gold producer in the world.

# The uniforms for the U.S. Olympic team were made in China.

# 85% of all artificial Christmas trees the world over are made in China.

# The new World Trade Center tower in New York is going to include glass imported from China.

# China now consumes more energy than the United States does.

# China is now in aggregate the leading manufacturer of goods in the entire world.

# China uses more cement than the rest of the world combined.

# China is now the number one producer of wind and solar power on the entire globe.

# China produces 3 times as much coal and 11 times as much steel as the United States does.

# China produces more than 90 percent of the global supply of rare earth elements.

# China is now the number one supplier of components that are critical to the operation of any national defense system.

# In published scientific research articles China is expected to become number one in the world very shortly.

And what we have seen so far may just be the tip of the iceberg.

That's really disturbing PH, my eyes nearly popped out of my head when I read China makes 85% of the world's artificial Xmas trees. World leaders need to come together to stop that monopoly.

On a serious note can someone explain to me how China has more currency reserves, whatever that means? Yet we always read about how much debt China owes.
