Even though the scores were still almost level at 3 quarter time, it appeared inevitable that Richmond were going to run away with it in the last team. They had a bit of a wobble when they lost Vlaustein but once they had reorganised their defence the Tigers quickly got back on track. Dusty was on another level compared with the other 41 players and all his goals came at crucial moments. I felt sorry for Gaz who bravely came back after the shoulder injury but had zero impact on the game. All of Geelongs stars apart from Selwood were pretty well blanketed.
No reason why the Tigers can't do a three- peat next year whereas I think the Cats may be looking at a partial rebuild as they were the oldest team to play a Grand Final for quite a few years.

As for the entertainment and the spectacle I thought it was all a bit ordinary and it didn't really feel like a grand final.

I agree regarding it not feeling like a GF. Geelong did not come out after time. Richmond smalls for me the difference - Dusty the icing on the cake. Regarding Dusty - surely the idea of tag has merit in a game like this.

Richmond 3 premierships + 3 Norm Smiths medals for Dusty.Big player in the big matches.
Dangerfield went missing after halftime. With a few of his teammates. Didn't fire in his biggest game of his career..
Umpire Stevic+Ricmond. Some important 50\50 calls going Richmond way in the 3rd qtr.The same 2 weeks in a row.

I think the 1st goal of the 3rd was a free to Riewoldt for holding on against Geelong, but Riewoldt had held the jumper of his Geelong opponent in the skirmish. The 2nd goal in the 3rd term for Richmond was dodgy too, Menegola claimed he touched the Richmond mark near the boundary line and just seconds before that Harry Taylor was not rewarded for a Richmond incorrect disposal. Minutes later down the other end exactly the same thing was rewarded to Richmond.

I said the same thing TM....I couldn't believe they didn't have a hard tag on Dusty especially when he went forward of the centre.

Yep, a ho hum season, with a ho hum finish. Although I can’t really criticise the game - never watched it and had to read the news this am to see who’d won. Rugby looks as though it’s going to be a fizzer too.

Another boring GF in the end, a blow out, two in a row now, I guess not as bad as last year.

Welcome to country is now becoming a bigger than ben hur 5 star production that seems to take for ever.

WAFL GF was a far more thrilling finish.

Thought I would like the start time of 4.30, but ended up sort of just hanging around waiting for the game to start.
