I haven't been a huge Beatles fan but I did grow up listening to the Beatles but I guess I never fully appreciated the genius of this band. 

That's until I wanted to watch the new documentary by Australian Peter Jackson who discovered 57 hours of unseen footage of their last  recording sessions of their last album Let it be and their bizarre last live performance on the rooftop of their recording studio.

I had to pay $11.99 for a months subscription on Disney to watch it but it is well worth while and thoroughly recommend it. It's a marathon you have to be prepared to sit through a lot of footage through songs you've never heard of but if you fast forward through too much you will miss the little moments and interactions.

It's like being a fly on the wall in a Beatles recording studio and it is purely fascinating to see the real Beatles and how they interact with each other and their crew, Yoko is permanently by Lennon's side and Linda McCartney comes into the scene.

McCartney and Lennon are clearly the two dominant figures, especially McCartney and if anyone thought McCartney and Lennon didn't get along or see eye to eye you'd be dead wrong.

Those two are goofy as hell and are always hamming it up . I think this period was in 1969 , it's so sad to think that just 11 years later John Lennon was killed by a lunatic with a gun outside his apartment. 

DD the interviews Paul McCartney does with Rick Rubin from memory on the extras of Get Back are worth watching too.
He talks about how him and John for the most part plus George and Ringo for songs they wrote for The Beatles came about.

All British  music from the 1960's was amazing.The Beatles or Elvis for the greatest  ever.
All the Beatles where successful as solo performers also.Especially John and Paul.How much music have we lost from John Lennon in the last 40 Year's..

Is that McCartney 321 BH? I'm halfway through watching it. I just wish I had even 5% of their music ability and creativity. They all smoked like chimneys , George died of lung cancer, it's a miracle McCartney is still alive and kicking.

I think some blamed Yoko for the break-up, couldn't be further from the truth. As you say they all ended up with successful solo careers. They all worked hard and played hard but thankfully not to the extent of other rock and pop stars. They lived fairly ordinary lives I think that just oozed musical creativity and loved what they do.

1960's British music was called the British invasion.It is believed that the Beatles paid so much tax.It payed of Britians WW2 debt to the United States.Lend Lease,the French+Soviets did not pay the United States .But British did.
Successful British bands from the 70's,80's+90's all relocated to the United States.For that reason.
