I have followed the WAFL for over 50 years and Yesterday was one of my saddest days at the football.
Watching the 5 participating clubs, the look of joy on the faces of their supporters emblazoned in their team colours.I pondered whether I will ever again be able to sit with a black and white army full of pride for the club's achievements.
2019 is a year to move on from and heed the lessons it has taught us.
A fleeting moment in the finals for the colts
The wooden spoon in the league.
Lowest team tally in the Sandover medal.
Lowest Club tally in the Rodriquez shield.
The fireman, school teacher and lawnmower man have a lot to answer for but won't do the honorable act and fall on their swords, and the board now having installed a gerrymander system of board appointments can't be removed.
The other clubs must laugh at our representation to the WAFC at the highest level, while other clubs have people of influence and get their way,we send along light weight salary and wages people without any real understanding of how the real world operates.
Wait now and see the list concessions and zone amendments that go through and I will bet that Swans even given our lowly position will not be favoured.
Why, beacuse we have no idea how to go and push our case and we have no one of influence to do so.
I didn't cheer at the football yesterday and cried when I came home still pondering whether I will ever be able to cheer again on Grand Final day.
