An article appeared on SDFC website today written by George Hampson which in part gave his side of the story of his sacking by East Fremantle last year. Not surprisingly it doesn't paint Bill Moynahan in a very positive light and I am sure that the Sharks would have a different version of what took place.

I am a bit confused about why the club would see fit to publish something like this in round 4 of the season when surely the football department should be solely focused on winning some games. To me there is no benefit to rehashing history when George has left EF behind and is now a Swans player. The circumstances in which he left the Sharks are probably good for debate at an end of season BBQ but I find it quite amazing that the club would allow this material to be published on its website which is basically criticising the methods and communication style of a proven opposition coach. I think that this shows a total lack of judgement on the part of whoever authorised the publication of this article. The stuff about how he is settling in at Swans is fine because it deals with the present.
I am not having a go at Hampson,he has a right to his opinions. However I believe at this stage of the season, the club should have kept this in house and allowed George's footy to do the talking.
Am I overreacting? See what you think.

I agree
A great shame that someone at SD chose to allow this self flugulating drivel splash their clubs site
It’s much easier to understand now why Bill W chose to move this opinionated child on.

Good luck to SD coaches containing this toxic personality from influencing young players.
He carries MASSIVE baggage and it’s obvious.
One has to then wonder - does the individual that saw fit to allow to print this muddy slur also have an agenda??

Glad he was shown the door at EF - not wanted‼️

Not saying this person hasn’t got talent - just a toxic self picture to ride along with it....
Bill smelled the rot early

Agree mike and no I don't think you are overreacting. George obviously and rightly has his own opinions - what is completely baffling here to me is that someone/whoever has seen fit (as mike put) to publish something like this on the official Swan Districts website.

Wow! How could anyone at the club think this is a good idea? After reading Hampson’s version of events, I think EF definitely did the right thing in moving him in to try to create a better culture. I’m sure if Monaghan and EF ever stooped as low as SD’s and Hampson’s level and put forward their side of the story, we’d be left in no doubt.

Surely this must be the most Narcissistic article ever to be spewed under our clubs banner.
A disgrace that should never be repeated.

Just reading about akermanis being banned from another golf club and saying in response it's the world that needs to change, not him. Some people are just like this but agree sd a bit silly to give him an official platform.

Interesting that a club has created a precedence to provide a player with an official platform to vent on their former club.
Though it is a precedent that is highly unlikely to be utilized at any other club, says so much more about Hampson and more significantly whoever it was at Swan Districts who authorized/permitted it.
Might be an interesting game for Georgy when the two clubs meet, might get a few more through the gate now.

Confirms what most have thought about George, his "me first" attitude has seen him shown the door by the 2 most professional and successful coaches in recent WAFL history, their view is the one that should get most consideration. George is a wonderfully talented footballer and maybe his physical gifts would have been better served by pursuing and individual sport like tennis or golf.

As for SDFC allowing this to be published (the section referring to another football club and coach) is totally unprofessional and really out of character for a club that has worked so hard and professionally and independently to rebuild their club after their recent financial issues.

All good posts --- quite simply the club should take the article down. Anybody would have thought he was the first footballer in the history of the world to have a disagreement with a coach
