The smell of desperation will be noticeable from 2pm on Saturday when these two teams meet for 4 vital premiership points. For the winner it will be a life line to revive their season. Depending on other results the victor may only find themselves 1 game out of the top 5. The loser will be 0-4 and whilst it won't be season over, it will be a tough task for a team to recover from this position.

Both teams are probably a little unlucky not to have at least one win on the board, inconsistency and inability to play 4 quarters have probably cost both dearly.

For Swans, I can't see too many changes to last weeks team (assuming no injuries). Perhaps Reidy and Bain could be considered taking into account their reserves performances.Pickering will be looking for a continuation of their performance in the 2nd half against Perth when they moved the ball better and put their opposition under pressure. If Swans can put together 4 quarters similar to this,we are in with a chance.

Arena Joondalup has not been a happy hunting ground for us over the past 4 - 5 years. There have been some horrendous perfomances there by Swans, the most recent being last year when we looked like we were heading for the lowest score in our history until the players pulled their fingers out in the last quarter.

Hopefully this time there will be a bit of ANZAC spirit on show but on a rational level you would have to favour West Perth to win at home. Hopefully there is a plan to reduce Blacks influence on the game because he kills us every time.

Mike I am tipping Black & Nelson will have their usual 40+ disposals against us as we just refuse to play them close or impose any physical pressure on both.

BH: It is funny how the football industry has conned people concerning the standard and style of play. Wiley, Rioli and the others, as you have pointed out before, used to get thirty positions with people playing on them. What is more they could actually kick the bloody ball to a full-forward properly.

Good performance, had we kicked straighter we would have shown the true dominance of the game.
