Good evening Swans boys - trust you're all as well as can be given yet another farce of a finals series ;)
Haven't read all prior posts in the thread but one piece of sad news that has filtered back to my ears is that Clancee Pearce might be playing for Denmark-Walpole next season after his knee reco - hopefully this is incorrect or is being worked upon by the SDFC :)

Good to see your back Southy.
It would be nice to see Clancee have a change of heart and suit up at Basso next year one can only hope.

Welcome back Southerner. Its been very quiet down in Swans land since the new coach was appointed but I expect there will be more news filtering out now that pre-season training has started. A change of mind by Clancee would be very unlikely at this stage unfortunately :(

Really disappointing if it is true that Blaine Boekhurst is negotiating to play with a WAFL club other than Swans. If that is what Blaine wants, good luck to him. He is entitled to get the best deal for himself. No problems with EF trying to recruit him either, they have been very proactive in the off season to improve their list.
I wonder though if anyone in Swans Management or football department made much of an effort to sound Blaine out about a possible return to his club of origin. It appears the club is more focused on advertising fund raising drives and community events than informing the members on any possible player recruitment. Sure these things are important, but It appears to me that the club is "asleep at the wheel" especially given the loss of experienced players from 2017.

mikeh. This is part of a report from the coach I received in my membership package the other day. " Although we have not been advertising our recruiting prospects, we have been active, but selective. We want to get this right. We want the right people, not just footballers to this great club who will embrace the SDFC as a whole. 2018 will be an exciting time for us on and off field. I know you'll be behind us win, lose or draw off field and trust me we will be holding up our end on the field."

It would be nice to get some (any) news soon though.

Can't see how you guys can think Boekhurst is going anywhere but SD....he won't be coming to EF for the money......more so to play with his best mate Jupp.....pretty sure he would have more mates at SD than he does at EF...plus pretty sure SD have more money than EF....Cl are the ones to fear more than likely....all cashed up with their draft money

Forget chasing new players coming to the club...we got one or 2 lined up but bugger all $$$ to lure more than them 2 hence the club talking about strategic recruiting...no guarantee either are genuinely getable especially with Subi ready to pounce...from what I’m hearing best we concentrate on keeping a few we already got and convince them to stick around first.

Pickers gave him a call and said if you want to play then play if not we can do without you mate. He is a very confident guy.

Nobody is indispensible but Boekhurst would certainly be very useful given his experience. Lets see if Pickering's confidence is well founded.

Yeah heard Wiley said about the same...if you want to play we would welcome you with open arms, if you don't, completely understand your loyalty for sticking with SD.....
