Did Ed Blackaby poll well? He tended to be sick and injurred a bit. What about David Snow?

BC-Squidda played for the club in a very difficult time.Both on and off the field.Towards the end of his career he got to play some finals.Remember when he won the Sandover and polled more votes the next year.Think a Subi player called Pickett won with 9 top votes.

i dont think Ed ever played close to a full year AR due to either injury or illness (54 games in 5 seasons) as we know that helps with any voting awards like F&B, Sandover etc.
Snowy from memory finished Top 3 one year in the late 90s.

I know most oppo supporters weren't a big fan of Phil Read but I thought he was pretty hard at it and when he went head to head with Beros during the season you were sure to get a real contest. two very tough cookies who didn't take a step backwards.

BC remember a state game Wa V Sa at Freo Oval.2003 or 04.A SA player gave Beros a fantastic shirt front right on the boundry line.I was on the boundry fence and heard the smashing of body and bones.He was up on his feet about 90 seconds later.

Good question AR, I think Fitzy probably finished in our Top 10 a couple of times maybe once in the early 80s then also when he came back home from his short stint at Perth. Toddy would have loved him due to his versatility to play multiple roles both in defence and up forward and also have the occasional stint ruck roving as well. Premiership player in 82 and a quality Mr Fixit player in our beloved early 80s side.

Yes F & B Ark, or as the Victorians and most AFL followers would say - Best & Fairest. The game has now become all about Victorian history and customs. We have virtually been written out of history.
