There has been some great players win the F&B over the years. Can anybody think of a player or players, whom should have won the award, but for what ever reason did not do so?

A few that spring to mind for me are all from our outstanding 80s era like Mike Richardson, Brad Shine, Don Langsford, Jon Fogarty, Tom Mullooly, Tony Solin, Bill Skwirowski, Murray Rance, Don Holmes et al top players but competing against the Narkle brothers, Baker, Neesham, Nowotny, Melrose, Boucher, Sidebottom, Sartori, Ugle etc.
From the modern era Justin Simpson was very unlucky not to win a Swan Medal he was always around the mark tho.

BH: your welcome. There are some really good players in the group, chiefly Richardson, but as you stressed he did have strong competition. What interests me about such awards, as you say, is that it really gets given to a full- forward or a backman. I think Beasley kicked 100 goals one year; Tom Mullooly and Murray Rance would have stopped many goals in their careers.

I think Robertson did win the Outridge Medal at Subi a couple of times.

How many times did Beros win it?

gtr: I think Bill would say he was robbed of a few more too, as Bunton played him in the forward pocket.

How lucky was that young club only formed 27 years before Ark.To have both players arrive at the club at the same time.I believe that the same will happen to the Dockers some day,maby 2022.

gtr: yep, that is very true -- big tick to those whom recruitted them to the club. The appointment of Bunton, in particular, was a brave one especially as he was young and lacked coaching experience, at least in the WAFL. Both men will be legends forever, as you know, because they broke the club's drought.

Looking back even further some legends of our club never won the Swan Medal including Ted Holdsworth, Ken Bagley, Fred Castledine, John Turnbull, Eric Gorman, Brian Gray, Tom Stannage, Cyril Litterick, Colin Maynard amongst others.
As GTR posted the great man Billy Walker won 5 Swan Medals as did Travis Edmonds whilst other club greats George Krepp, Duggan Anderson, Keith Slater, Haydn Bunton, Peter Manning, Keith Narkle won 3. A host of players have won 2 including Spec Sinclair, Jack Murrray, Joe Pearce, Garry Sidebottom, Gerard Neesham, Phil Narkle, Mick Grasso, Joel Cornelius, Shane Beros, Adam Lange, Josh Roberts & Matt Riggio.
