Lets hope for a big effort on Saturday to give Swans supporters something to hang on to for next season. There were some good signs at Fremantle last week, lets try and build on that. Looks like ex Swan Brett Wolfenden is in good form at the moment so he might enjoy his return to Bassendean. Jones, Tropiano and McKenna are the guys who have killed us in the first two meetings and are again going to be the main threats on Saturday.

Cipro and Stewart. If they play they will be number 44 and 45 who have pulled on the league guernsey. Chad Daniels will make it 46 as I don't think he has played league this year either

Great win by the colts, demonstrates graphically the benefit of straight kicking, 6 - 3 to 2-15!
I notice that Freddie Clutterbuck is playing in the ressies???? Can anyone explain that? I assumed he was injured when I didn't see him in the league team. Nonsensical decision unless it is a disciplinary issue.

Couldn't get hold of The Dees midfield mate by the looks of it - good to see it didn't completely blow & fought it out

No need to mince words here. That was a pathetic and embarrassing performance by Swans today. For most of the losses this year the effort has been there but poor skills and decision making have killed us. I can accept that as a supporter but what happened today was just a lack of desire to compete, too many guys playing for themselves and not for the team and the coach and a total lack of pressure on Perth which made a very ordinary team look like premiership contenders.

The second quarter was particularly abject from Swans after a reasonable start where they wasted at least 3 genuine chances to score goals into the wind. The danger signs were there in that 1st quarter though and the malaise spread in the 2nd period when they should have been attacking with the breeze. Perths midfield were so dominant but really they had very little competition. Tropiano and Jones ran around and did what they liked. Incredibly they had 88 possessions between them but no one from Swans was prepared to make them accountable at any stage.

The effort today made the decision to drop Clutterbuck even more perplexing as Freddie is one of the few who have been consistent performers this year.

Well done to the ressies and colts for their victories. Unfortunately the league team failed to follow suit.

Clutterbuck broke his nose in the first quarter of last week's game.

You are far too kind Mike. That was nothing short of inept and insipid today.
We are kidding ourselves if we think a couple of new players will make much difference to the standard as we are so far off the mark it is not funny.
Some big changes needed in our football department as we are a mile behind even the 8th side in skill, fitness, strength, determination, decision making, effort etc etc it is not funny!
