I have had the misfortune of visiting the place a few times, the highlight of the trip being the Great Southern Hwy back to civilisation!

You have to admit the racecourse at the base of Mt Bakewell is a nice spot

The old trotting track around the footy oval was also interesting viewing!

All been redeveloped now, oval now runs north south (like all really footy grounds should) new clubrooms, hockey, bowls, tennis and lights for night games, a big step up from basso. All thanks to the Liberals royalties for regions.
