No disrespect Singha, but with $ubi's rorting of the salary and points cap over the years and resulting in a multitude of Premierships, you get no sympathy from me and I reckon I speak on behalf of the WAFL fraternity. Yesterday you were gifted 2 x maggot assist goals and the overall umpiring was ok.

I agree about yesterday's umpiring

Not when they duck and throw their heads back! It should be "play on you ducked" that would stamp it out, but the umps get sucked in, its so obvious when there is a minority of players that do it.

I never saw you do it! You didn't need to

Maybe Hams, Sloithe and co are smarter than the rest to do it, but not in the games spirit in my opinion. And the umpires are too dumb to stamp it out
Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!

It's also a player safety issue, sooner or later Hams is going to have his head taken off ducking into a tackle and the WAFL is going to be responsible. These unsporting and unsafe tactics by South Freo need to be stopped.

SD far different era of football mate back when I played. The interpretation of head high contact was far more lenient and societal pressures to the impact of concussions was never an issue as it is today. Heaven forbid a tactic that was used back in the day for spoiling a opposition players was widely used ie if you couldn't punch the football the next best thing to do was to take hands and at the same time take a piece of the ears and head. Mate some of the players from my era would be on serious extended breaks if they played under the head high interpretations these days.
I am certain that opposition clubs have vented their disapproval of tactics of certain players to drawing head high contact to the umpiring fraternity. The display by GH at half time on Saturday will do nothing to change the views of umpires , if anything it will galvanise the group and you probably may find yourself on the wrong end of a few 50 - 50 decisions by the men in green or pink?
They would best advised to just ignore it and tackle the issue through other forums.
My opinion mate is forget about the umpires as I have learnt over the years you are never going to beat them or get them to change their opinions just got to get on and just keep playing the game.
Thanks outer for having concern for Hams and Sclhoithes health I am sure they will be fine mate. Head high contact has always been a free kick every day,

Dwert the problem is quite simple to explain: what is paid to the opposition in their forward line against us is NOT PAID to us in our forward line when a similar head high tackle etc occurs. The second part of this is the propensity for Swans' players to be awarded free kicks in the later part of the game when the result of the match is already settled.

I would point out that I can't recall the last time Harding instructed our captain to speak to the umpires at half time.

Mate the club , GH need to discuss the issue with the umpiring bosses at the right time. Confronting the umpires by GH and then instructing his captain to go and talk with the umpires at the half time break ain't going to change the umpires views on the day? All it did was egg the SD supporters on to yell further abuse and vitriol toward the umpires. IMO I have seen that approach adopted by our club in the past and others and have seen that it has no impact on changing or improving umpires relationship with your club. Better off doing things at the right time.

Dwert explain how Schloithe could finish with on average two more free kicks per game than the next player last season.

That is very much the point; GH doesn't but it does come to a point when enough is enough.
