Everything is a bloody "safety concern" nowadays isn't it. Our old scoreboard is going for the same reason.

Former Swans boys Treleven, Symonds, Moss, D & J Morgan et al were handy for your beloved Old Easts were they not Freeze?

Treleven might of come from SD zone of Esperance BH, but pretty sure he never played for SD  ....that's like me saying Roger Hayden and Harry O'Brien are more EF products to play AFL because they came from EF zone ;) .....might as well say Jeremy Wasley was another EF product that did well at SD and won a Sandover medal then BH....how he won that Sandover, still is a mystery to me to this very day.....33/1 from memory.......

as for EF having a strong side in that era of SD BH?.....naaagh mate the 80/81/82 years were the worst in EFFC history pre AFL mate.....83 was a smidgen better, 84 yeah but only young, after that SD were heading south (85) and deep deep south in 86 before WCE ruined the party in 87....

Incorrect Frosty ol mate Craig Treleven played Colts & Reserves footy at SD in 1987-88!

sorry BH....should of said Treleven never played LEAGUE for SD  .....thank fark his SD experience didn't have a negative impact on his EF career.....debuted for EF in 92, thus he had 4 years to exorcise all those negative SDFC demons he may of possessed

All very well to say that but what if the scoreboard fell over during a game and hurt someone?

And we all know that no one gets injured or killed on building sites any more....

Yeh that is a good point and a lot of people including kids sit under it. Wonder what they are doing with the old one? Maybe sell it at Auction! Would generate some big dollars!

Luckily for Jock his time spent at Basso was just enough to not only develop a Sandover Medal but also get himself drafted ..sheesh you only have to look at Crowley who only trained at our great club but that was more than enough to have Essenscum clambering for his services!!

Highly unlikely that the Scoreboard will be replaced in time for the start of the season. When attempting to remove the footings of the old one, extra machinery was required as they were so big which resulted in a costs blowout of 8k. At the moment all that is there is a pile of rubble.

I always thought it was spelt clustterphark!!

Just pray that Basso Council don't follow the lead of Vincent Council and install something similar to the ridiculous electronic piece of crap scoreboard we have to put up with at Leederville.

SS I have it on good authority the scoreboard at Leederville will be replaced shortly with one that is twice as big.
