Two points Barney. Which WAFL club did Cransberg play for? Secondly, I would agree with you that your above posts is remarkable insofaras it is perhaps the most puerile and pathetic post I have had the misfortune to read.

Might be time to approach Ross Fitzgerald at Steel Blue to see if there could be some funds released to assist the cause

South got some help from the FCC to preserve ours & also I believe we set aside funds for upkeep too

TBH the digital scoreboard at Peel is spot on. The one at Medibank is a waste of money.

The Scoreboard on the Hill needs to be REPAIRED. It should NOT be destroyed.

Perhaps some of you COUNCILLORS should TRY to UNDERSTAND before you make these decisions from your DESK.

TRY getting to several games and actually ASK the PEOPLE what THEY think.

WHY do we need a DIGITAL scoreboard that can NOT be seen when the sun hits it?????

I agree Cardinal, but just a word of advice to you and anyone else considering emailing the council. Don't get aggressive or have a shot at them being desk jockies. I can tell you it will have a direct reverse effect with them. Ive been dealing with these people for years and the concise, clear and polite approach gives you at least a chance to be accounted for.

Absolutely speak from the depths of your heart, express and highlight the values of tradition and its sacred qualities, and show appreciation for taking the time to read your plea's. Class will always get a chance ahead of any type of ferrel approach or angle. People on here get emotional to the point where they become irrational. And that wont help keep the scoreboard. It will in fact kill it straight up.

I don't have a heap of money to throw around but if you want to start a fund I will contribute what I can.

Got a phone call from the Council just after 3pm today. Had an excellent conversation and though I missed the name of the caller, he did actually tell me that he was in favour of the repairs rather than removal. He will argue/debate in that direction.

Actually he was quite astounded that he had received several calls from media outlets wanting to know what was going on as my email was almost the first notion that he had that there was an issue.

I did suggest that the shopping centre pocket would be a good spot for a digital scoreboard one day, so long as the original stayed, just like at the WACA.

He even asked if I was happy with Monday's result. So all is good.

Happened upon the home changerooms not so long ago while officiating a game at Basso and if you are going to get scoreboard heritage listed you may as well throw in the bath tubs as they must be of the same vintage!
