The Bassendean Council are considering knocking down the wonderful old scoreboard on the hill as they say it needs repairs. That would be a shame and I am not happy about it. So I am asking all of you out there in football land to let the council know that we don't want to lose the board. It is part of Swan Districts Football Club and Bassendean and part of football and we don't want digital a board you can't see when the sun hits it, HATE digital with a passion.

let them know you want it to stay. all of you historians join in. why do we have to go to something like Peel have or Leederville oval. lets retain a bit of sporting history.

I would hate to see it go...its been there longer than I can remember. Email the Bassendean Council and voice your disapproval of this decision.

NOOOOOOOOO! They can't do that, surely the club can apply to get it heritage listed? As well as email maybe Jim could put something up on Facebook and I will share it in all my circles.

No bloody way our scoreboard has to stay. Those electronic ones like at Leederville & Rushton are a deadset joke.
One of my greatest memories of our scoreboard was us putting 40 goals on there against the hapless milk drinking pussy cats back in 79!!

Undoubtedly a by-product of the W.C.Eagles fiasco of 2013. They have such a long reach and this would be pay back from Nisbett and Cransberg. The scoreboard embarrassed them so they vowed a vendetta to get back at it. Subsequently after an almost 24 month campaign of lobbying and bribing the Bassendean Council they have succeeded in their ultimate goal. Is there no end to their power and vindictive attitude? When will it all end?
