Gee seems like a long time since the last home game. A couple of away games and a bye makes it a 4 week break. Finally back to more familiar surroundings with no horses or lunatics in tiger suits :P

Swans need the win here to wipe out the disappointment of conceding the game from a winning position last week. On the surface, Swans are short priced favourites against a team that has only won 1 of its last 12 games and have now lost Bevan to suspension and Mitch Morton to injury. It should be a comfortable win..... however...

The players would do well to recall that even though we have beaten Perth twice this year, both games were come from behind wins and the Demons played pretty well for long patches of both encounters. It is quite possible that it could be another uncomfortable afternoon, especially if Swans serve up the stuff that they did for three out of the four quarters at the Showgrounds. Perth showed some fight in the 3rd quarter against Subiaco last week and will pounce if we turn up with a complacent mindset.

Swans have to play more like they did in the 3rd quarter last week. It will help that Perth's following division is not in the same league as the Seaby/Blackwell/Murphy/Neates combination so life should be a little easier for Riggio, Elari, Faulkner etc. Hopefully Swoop, Cary and Davis can stretch the Perth defence. Davis was completely blanketed by Bevan last time so Ryan will appreciate his absence.

With our loss last week, Subiaco now have the inside running for 2nd spot and Swans are now relying on a slip up from them. However if we can't get the double chance, 3rd spot will give us a home first semi and that should be the minimum that Swans are aiming for. Another defeat and the Sharks will be on our hammer.

I see swans kicked 6 goals to one in the last quarter in a comeback classic, we sure taught you well last week!

Trademark Swans by the looks , absorbed it all for 3 quarters and stormed home with a wet sail
Great win in the end again to the Basso boys

Have to feel for the Dees too

That was a lot like the South Freo game at Fremantle a few weeks back. Absolutely nothing for 3 quarters and then a blazing finish. Perth were by far the more desperate team up to three quarter time and they looked like they had it wrapped up.

Hopefully the last quarter comeback doesn't disguise the very poor effort of the guys for the rest of the game. I can't remember the last time we played four solid quarters of footy and it will come back to bite us on the bum eventually

I am not sure which game we have won from an impossible position. Agree with you Mikeh that we were very poor for the first three quarters. A brilliant last quarter. We certainly need to lift in our work rate and four quarter efforts - starting at Joondalup next week.

Mate I read Kirk Ugle's comments after our game at Freo and he said that regardless of the situation in any match Swans believe they can win
It is so evident & totally true this season , I think you guys will be in the Grandie

Always enjoyable to come back from the dead to win but sheesh we really need to have a look at the way we went about things in the last qtr compared to the first 3 qtrs!
Finally we decided to put our head over it for a start but the glaring difference was at long last kicking long to our dangerous forwards instead of stuffing around with the ball with innocuous handball happy shit in the wet!

Fair enough Southerner and Kirk was one of the guys who lifted the team in the last quarter. I just think your luck runs out eventually and against a better team today, we would have probably been 10 goals down instead of 5 at 3 quarter time with no way back.

Spot on Mike Deaves missed 2 from straight in front and Lleyendekkers as well all at crucial times.
You thread from outside 50 from deep angles.
Can't afford not to take opportunities.
Breaks supporters hearts.
That was the weakest side we've fielded in years, I think they were terrific just lost some concentration at times.
Has happened to us all year.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.
Winning isn't everything. It's the ONLY THING !!!!!!
I shot the fukin sherriff!!!!

I just wanted to mention a guy who doesn't get many accolades but every Swans supporter knows that he is such a good player and that is Alex Howard. In the absence of Simmo today, Howie raised his game to another level and took 10 marks and had 21 disposals whilst under quite a lot of pressure. He was playing well when Swans were not and that is the sign of a good temperament. Howie is an excellent reader of the game and is a key player in our backline.
