Following a specially convened meeting of the Board of Management on Saturday, the Swan Districts Football Club would like to announce that current Director, David Parkinson, has been appointed as President replacing Peter Harvey who resigned last week due to increased work and family commitments.

David’s experience as a former Police Superintendent provides the Swan Districts Football Club with a wide ranging skill set comfortably fulfilling the requirements of the position.

Further, Premiership Captain and current Director, Peter Hodyl was appointed as Vice President; Both appointments provide a refreshed approach within the leadership of the Board of Management.

The club would also like to acknowledge the contribution of Peter Harvey as, firstly, a Director and then as President over the previous seven years. Peter has served the club with great passion and energy and we thank him for his unwavering effort and contribution during his tenure.

It had to be more than family and work reasons. With the latest developments, he would have been removed as President at the AGM in a few weeks. The financial incompetence that has gone on in the last 12 months is beyond a joke.
