I wasn't able to make it yesterday but was delighted when I saw the scores on the net. Sounds like the guys bounced back well from last week. The third quarter appeared to be the game breaker for Swans. Was it a good team effort or were there some standout performers? I note from the stats that Elari got 31 possessions and Davis 5 goals so they would have been amongst the best
Nice feeling to go into the bye at 11-3 with September action guaranteed. Disappointing I guess that the battle for the top 4 appears to be over and the only interest now is what order they finish in.
So what is left after next weeks bye is home games V Perth, East Perth and South Fremantle and away games V Claremont, West Perth (again) and East Fremantle. Probably need to win 4 of these to ensure a top 2 finish.

Pretty even team performance from us Mike everyone played well or did their job, no one stood out over the rest but I actually thought Howie was one of our best over the whole 4 qtrs down back.

Thanks BH. I reckon Howie would be a good pickup for an AFL rookie list. Reads the play and positions himself as well as anyone in the WAFL. Haven't the ressies pulled their season around after the flogging by Subiaco? Well done to them. 4 in a row now and as you said many played up from the Colts. Our depth is looking pretty good at the moment and Swans playing stocks are looking rosy for this year and the long term.

Yeah definitely the Colts boys have stepped up nicely up to Ressies level. They are a very talented bunch of kids that are coming through with young Nelson kicking 6 goals yesterday on his first appearance up from the Colts.
Just going back to that Subi Ressies game I made mention at the time it wasnt a true reflection of how good or bad they are as we had no bench for the 2nd half of that game with injured boys going down everywhere but a certain clueless poster from another club with absolutely no idea about football made it up to be we had no depth at all but anyone with half a brain would realise we have some of the most promising young players in WA coming through the ranks at Basso!

Is Nelson a local lad or is he from the country zone? I don't normally get to see the colts unless they play after the league game

Dylan is a local boy from Bassendean Mike. He has been playing Colts for us for the last 3 years and also played a few games in the State 18's this year.

Cheers BH. Given Greg Harding's policy this year, there is every chance that Dylan will make his league debut before the season is out, particularly if he performs as well as he did on Saturday

Nelson Ansey from our Pilbara zone Wickham maybe? much like Dylan Nelson is another boy who has played 3 years of Colts and has stepped up to Reserves over the last couple of weeks. Ansey is a full forward with nice hands and is a good kick for goal and is coming along nicely.

Have to say that number 12 can play, local bloke I believe. I think Swans are the real deal, they just play as a team. They are nothing fancy , what you see is what you get. From what I have seen this year, Swans are the quickest team, they are fast.
