Article in the West today stating Monaghan's surprise at Harding's push for Kirk to be included in the state squad. Why would Bill be surprised??? Kirk carved WP up on Anzac day mopping up everything from half back and was in blistering form against EF last week. He was at Collingwood so has spent time training and preparing at an elite level. Comment re Twomey & Hams doesn't brush with me either. Harding has every right to push for players he thinks deserves a run at the state team as do all WAFL coaches. Interestingly enough the WP ruckman gets in the moment Johnson pulls out. Surprise surprise, pushing your own players in there are you Bill

There's a little bit of recent history between Monaghan and Harding and the two teams, so I wasn't really surprised at Monaghan's comments. Ugle certainly does warrant some consideration based on his recent form.

Also love the furfee from John Townsend stating "it is understood that State Selectors are surprised at Harding's push etc"....haha State Selectors, as if it wasn't Bill's words, the rest of the article quoted Bill & Bill only....nice try John

and if kirk can continue this sort of form who knows how good he will become , been very very good for the Swans this year

West Perth are over represented in the squad given their form.

Surely I'm not the only bloke that doesn't see Keunan as a state quality footballer?

Don't get me wrong, he's been a solid ruckman for a long time and it's a pretty bad year for ruckmen but I just don't think he has state rep quality.

Agreed, I think the entire Swans side should represent the State !!! Keunan is a quality ruckman that is unheralded (your testament to that), he is basically an extra mid as to his agility. The best ruckman in the comp apparently is Johnson and Chris continually beats him.

If you look through the teams he was the only other option to lead the ruck.
I don't think Seaby is available or his doesn't form warrants a state game.

I'm with you. Especially if the rumours are true that Johnson dropped out and decided to go to a family wedding after he was told he was not going to play.

While we are on ruckmen that Derickx kid from Claremont is doing alright at Sydney. Especially as he was so close to being off a list at the end of last year.
