I haven’t been able to get along to any of the pre season fixtures but looking from afar there seems to be more questions than answers.

Over the 3 hit outs we used plenty of numbers and several key players played only the 1 or none of the games. Connor Blakely only played the 1 but he looks to be in good shape, brother Nathan played the 1 and we are no clearer as to who will lead the ruck out of him and Yukich but you’d think we would play both. We didn’t see Trew or Clarke at all nor Erceg??? Nathan Ireland missed most of last year and hasn’t played a pre season game and Seb Bright would still be 4-6 weeks off with his knee. Pasini did look to pick up a knee injury in his hit out, hopefully not too bad. It would be nice if we could get a weekly injury report from the club.

The 3 matches played were all competitive hit outs despite the high turnover of players. What does seem farcical though is that West Perth had the rest this week in the lead up to round 1.

A player to watch for mine out of the pre season is Alforque. I think he might come on this year and provide us with some extra pace in the fwd half.

Same here Danger, I have been on holiday in New Zealand so missed all the scratchies. Looks like they were all competitive hit outs. I think our challenge this year will be finding enough goals to win games now that we have lost our best forward. TBH I think Tom Edwards is a bigger loss than Rokhar. There are a number of guys in our midfield who are more than capable of stepping up and filling the void left by him. Tommy will be harder to replace
