Great to see the SD boys up n about, don't think anyone can doubt SD and their preference for playing  local produce. Yeah the two ES boys have definitely added some polish, every club needs a few outsiders to strengthen the ranks.

As mikeh rightly says, SD need to keep riding that wave, injuries to key players, can put a spanner in the works pretty quickly......quite surprised SD reserves are sitting where they are on the ladder TBH, is that an area of concern depth wise or more a case SD reserves are relatively young in age?

Speaking of youngsters, SD colts with a  few boys back from injury and PSA commitments, look the best bet in stopping that Cl colts juggernaut from winning the flag.

Couple of colts boys stepped up to the 2’s on Saturday also. Be interesting to see if they drop back for this weekends clash.

I mentioned that I thought the coach was going well and getting the best of his players, but having Chalcraft and Rokahr in your team would also improve players' performance. Bunton at Swans, Farmer at WP...from the past the list goes on.

Swans have played 18 players in every game this year who have come through our Colts program, = 82% local talent.
The only 4 who didnt are the 2 recruits from Interstate this year (Rokahr SA, Chalcraft VIC as McLachlan played last year at Swans) & Pina!
The only club close to that level of local talent is Claremont!
Yeah, so I heard from Smart and Pruyn in their interviews. I believe WP are on or over that BH. We can get all technical about it, I haven't included the likes of Hobley, Hinder, Knott (7 years service), Keitel (10 years service) etc who couldn't get games at their original clubs and we turned them into Premiership players. One player you missed off and I like him a lot is Lynch from the Mandurah area. Anyway I simply stated that your recruits are the difference, I would be amazed if anyone refuted that. BH, I know you ave already gone through our list from yesterday, I would be interested in the figure you come out with :)
Not sure anyone cares much about WP on this page Whinnen but where out of my bolded comment above about Swans players coming through our Colts program have I linked WP?
And then regarding WP you could then include the likes of Keitel (EP), Knott (CL), Hobley (SU), Hinder (SD) etc who all played Colts at their original WAFL clubs in brackets plus Kernutt, whilst Carter is from SA so no it is not more than Swans or CL!
A bit like all those 16yo's apparently playing Reserves and or WP getting reemed by the umpires each week, it is a fairytale not backed up by facts mate!
Lynch played Colts at Swans circa 2014/15 under Trent Cooper before he got drafted to Footscray and was there for 6 or so seasons, not sure the Mandurah link maybe played juniors there at some point? A bit like when Tobe Watson was listed as coming from Donnybrook despite being a Bunbury boy!
No one is denying our 2 new (not 4+) Interstate recruits have made a difference to our midfield this year but that is also not giving some credence to the fact a lot of our 2021 Colts boys & 2023 Reserves side have really stepped up, progressed and gained the confidence to play at this level.
And dont forget we lost a lot of players at the end of last season including the extremely exciting Lawson Humphries, the dependable Tobe Watson, plus a Sandover Medallist Fisher, a Swan Medallist Anderson, 3 previous Leading Goalkickers at the club Noble, Jones & Palmer plus the speedy Kemp & Riley amongst others!

I am certainly not conceding, you actually reinforced some of my queries without knowing it but will leave it at that mate. I actually like catching up and chatting to you at the footy. As I mentioned before, I hope you max out in 2024 and Pruyn can do a Darren Harris to the majority of back stabbers in the Swans faithful .:)

Ditto mate.
As for you blokes (not sure why I am bringing this up here) despite the results so far,  I like the way Salacic is trying to implement a more attacking brand of footy in to your play this year. The first half on Saturday was some of the most exciting footy I have seen in a while from both sides.
I just wish more WAFL coaches would be that way inclined after all we all want to be entertained whilst at the footy, instead of the Roos, Malthouse, Eade style of soccer type scores 7-5!

One pleasing aspect of the season is that Swans have been scoring a lot more. Their average score this year so far is 86 points, up by 12 from last year and a far cry from the mid 50s that were averaged for a few years under Pickering. There have been 2 twenty goal plus scores this season and our scoring capacity is now at its best level for a decade.  Matches with reasonably high scores are a lot more interesting to watch.
