Much prefer this game on Saturday but the AFL wins and Sunday it is. At least we can be thankful the game is in the afternoon rather than 10am which some teams had to endure.
This game is a real opportunity for Swans to improve their position in the top 5 with 4 of their rivals playing each other over the weekend. They just have to be very careful that they don't approach the game as a fait accompli and drop off the brilliant intensity that they have demonstrated over the last 2 weeks.
The Eagles are a much better side than they were last year and they have a good coach. Already they have ambushed a couple of good sides including the reining premiers.
No time for complacency and risk losing some of the ground that Swans have gained in the last 6 weeks.

Agreed MikeH. The ridiculous early start times to suit the Eagles are a further blight on the competition and its integrity in my mind. You couldn’t dream of this crap happening just a few years ago. Now we just roll over.

Swans have currently scored 76 Goals thus far for their Home games (second only to West Perth) People say their Home Ground advantage at Home is about 14 points. As long as they stay focussed, Swans should have the 4 points and 5th consecutive win. Great to see a weekend of full fixtures with all the teams participating.

Swans did enough to get the four points but it was a very uninspiring game of football. West Coast are a lot better than last year. Swans were clearly the superior team, but they wasted this advantage by mucking around with the ball and lapsed into their old habits of missing targets by hand and foot. The Eagles picked off a lot of our wayward kicks to the extent that they had 12 more inside 50s than Swans but they were also a bit haphazard with their delivery which made things a lot easier for our defence.

Swans got their running game going in the 3rd quarter and the result was 6 goals but apart from this it was a spasmodic effort at best. The last quarter was lamentable. They put the cue in the rack when they had a great chance to boost their percentage with a 10+ goal win.

Well done Doc on your 100th game. Another great effort by Tom Edwards, loved his goal from deep in the pocket and took some strong contested grabs. Brad Lynch adds a lot of grunt to our forward line and he has been a consistent player this year. Jehb O'Donohue kept his intensity and pressure going all day. Luke Kelly showed a lot of composure under pressure  and I liked the way Lewis Tester attacked the contest.
Onwards we go to a date with West Perth next week

Does anyone know whats happened to Leigh Kohlmann? He went off with an injury at half time in a game 5 weeks ago and I haven't heard anything about him since

You may need to ring the club and ask? Disappointing to notice that according to the wafl website, there is no mention of him having an injury!

Swans sneaking up to top two contention.
Well Bazza, we missed a valuable opportunity to rise above your mob on the weekend. We had the percentage at 3/4 time, and then gave it way in the last quarter.

Some of the old skill errors where seen yesterday, with poor kicking producing turn-overs on the opposition's half-forward line fatal. Max Chipper was certainly given a stern talking to at 1/4 time, but Stephens also produced a few clangers. However, Collins and Pasini were superb in defence through out the day. But a danger game next week.

Word is is that Kohlmann and Howard are available next week, but neither should be walk-up starters in my opinion. Ireland is a fortnight away...

SD are home n hosed for a finals berth.....pushing hard for a deserving top 2 spot.....though footy is  a funny sport, and a few injuries to key players, can derail ones momentum in a flash..

Concussion.
It is now mandatory to miss 3 games, but may have had lingering effects ditto Howard.
