I love watching footy at Fremantle Oval, especially on a sunny day like today. The sounds of the City, smells coming from the markets and the large trees which loom over the ground make it a very attractive place. The first half today was a display of top class footy by the mighty black and whites. Positive and confident use of the ball by all of the guys. They just ran Souths into the ground. At half time I thought it was going to be a 100 point percentage boosting win. To Souths credit, they played a lot better in the 2nd half, probably aided by Swans lack of killer instinct and incessant mucking around with the ball.

Percentage wasted I fear, just like it was against Subiaco last week, sure hope that doesn't come back to bite us on the bum. Garlett continues to impress and make difficult things look easy, Hilders was dominant, Elari had leather poisoning, Faulkner continues to impress me and Robinson was great in the the first half before disappearing. When I saw later that he had suffered a knee injury, my stomach went into a knot, surely not another ACL FFS, that would not be fair. Lets just hope it was just sore and he was kept off as a precaution. The young lad Lobb is battling manfully but Wes's absence may be felt more against West Perth next week

Two weeks at Bassendean coming up. West Perth and Perth. Win both of these and we may just be in business. We will have to play 4 quarters instead of the 2 and a half we played today

The concrete jungle needs an overhaul mate! I hope the board member I spoke to last year is correct when he said they are planning to get rid of the concrete outer and replace it with grass at least we wont get piles any more

Yeah lets spend thousands of dollars tearing up the concrete so we can put in grass which then won't get any sun because of the big trees that hang over the ground and will then eventually die and we can all sit in sand or mud when it rains.

SUPER.

Maybe you should take over Dorringtons job at the WAFC.

Bring a chair, stand up or don't come.

BITCH!!

Hey Flogman this suggestion was from one of your own board members, and respected ex-Champs, so effectively your calling him a bitch!

Getting back to the game against Souths apart from Robbo's injury and Souths late run in the last quarter I think most Swans' supporters would be feeling a lot better than we were a few weeks ago after the game against Subiaco.

With respect to Lobb, Harding suggested that Lammie will be available this Saturday which poses a very interesting selection problem for Harding.

One sour note from the league game: how many spectators were disgusted, like me, of the appalling lack of care shown by the umpires to the two players who may have been seriously injured and their complete disregard for the safety and well being of those players. They have a duty of care when it comes to the welfare of the players and if they abrogate that responsibility and a player or players suffer serious injuries as a consequence they may well find themselves in court. We had the situation on Saturday where play was allowed to continue around the injured players and virtually had players hurdling the injured player. NOT GOOD ENOUGH. Play must be stopped if there is any doubt whatsoever that a player has sustained a serious injury.

I can recall that when an umpire was accidentally knocked to the ground the whistle was blown with alacrity.

Further on tjis subject in the colts' game on the same day, the umpire stopped a Swans' player from kicking out after a behind was scored whilst an obviously injured Souths' player was escorted off the ground. Correct decision. However, when he was getting towards the wing the umpire told the Swans' player to start play.

Do umpires not have any commonsense at all?

Am i the only swans fan that finds them almost unwatchable alot of the time? Perfect day, big crowd, and they serve up that poo. They chronically overuse the ball and refuse to play simple, effective footy.

It is criminal that with the list they have there isn't daylight between Swans and Claremont and the rest of the comp. Not sure how Harding still has his job to be honest.

Good point

Mate the quality was incredibly bad by both League and Ressies
on a day made for Footy. No wind, rain and nice and sunny?

The reserves had kicked 1 goal for WP and Swans 2 up to half time.
It was like a winter game. Swans had kicked 8 points as well up to then as well. League scores wernt much better.
All the play was between HB AND HF. I find it amazing that teams had no problem getting into the 50 but they couldnt go the extra 20 mtrs or whatever. Goal umpires must of got pretty bored.
