Groundhog day for Swans this Saturday. We need to beat the Tigers otherwise our season is effectively cooked. Very rare for a team to get back from a 1- 5 record particularly with a third of the season already over. Problem is the mounting injury list and inconsistent performances from quarter to quarter. Last week they looked a million dollars early in the game but their challenge soon petered out once Peel got into gear.

Swans need a 4 quarter effort from all players against the top team to even compete with them. One of their best wins last year was in this corresponding fixture and hopefully they can repeat the dose this Saturday

 A few selection snippets

1. Welcome back Tony Notte!  Amazingly he has made it back less than 9 months after rupturing his ACL. Hope the boys put in a big performance to celebrate his return.

2. Four outs from last week, Kemp suspended, Jones and Bright with hammys and Collins after that bump that put him in hospital. Hope he is recovering OK. What is it with all these hamstring injuries this year? Clarke and Fisher are also out at the moment with this injury as well

3. Frank Anderson has been named in the reserves squad on Saturday so that's a positive.

They are trolling the fans by playing Bayok, no wonder kids give up year on year at this club. He was out of his depth last year and nothing had changed in round 1. He plays one game back in the 2’s and straight in. There are kids in the 2’s
team with stacks of form and just continue to get overlooked. Maybe they aren’t league level but none have been given a good run at it,

This club is going nowhere with the current admin and football department, long overdue for a total overhaul.

Absolutely gutted that they have dropped that game. Every year the club say that they are desperate to be competitive and make finals. Well here was their chance to show their intent and stay in the finals race. They did everything right till 3 quarter time, then completely bottled it in the last quarter. Claremont showed them how a top team can snatch a win even if they are playing poorly. They saw an opportunity, kept plugging away and Swans rolled over. You would have to start wondering whether they are fit enough as its not the first time they have run out of steam in the last quarter this year.

Another wasted season, I am as pissed off as I have ever been with Swans, they are full of positive words but when it comes to action on the field they seem to always fall short.

As I said in the preview to this game, you can have all these high and mighty goals about diversity and being involved in the community but if the football team is consistently losing games and missing finals, people will not attend games or join as new members.

Loyal supporters who been attending for years deserve better than the sort of crap that the team has served up for many years.

I also want to know why guys like Chipper, Tester, Germs and Cartwright who are part of the reserves team which has won 5 out of 6 are not getting an extended run in the league team?
Maybe they will after this debacle.

I reckon it was a good effort Mike, you have about 6 of your best out and you stretched them big time.

Don't bloody care mate. The scoreboard said we lost and thats all that matters. Swans have been making excuses for years for their underperformance and I think most supporters have had enough.

Probs still would have found a way to lose but how that wasn’t a free kick for ball 20m dead in front of goal for us with a few mins to play is beyond me.

Well done to the tiges for handing us our annual participation awards today. Super frustrating , as at times we’ve looked  much better than a 1-5 side

After round 6 we have no chance of playing finals…..again.

A waste of a season..

The club is starting to lose its core function. WINING GAMES!!

The league coaching staff again have been out coached.  They are clearly out of their depth.

However I still be at the next game, supporting the and black and whites.

Time to drink!

such a disappointing result.
It played out like a slow car accident as soon as Cl kicked the first goal of the last quarter you knew it was on the cards.
Something has to change.
I hear Fisher has done a knee and out for the year too...must have happened at training on thursday.
The club will spin a positive out of it though as they dont seem to care about the core product being male league football.
