Sadly from an EF perspective that WAFL injury hub list is correct and up to date mikeh. Surely it's the responsibility of each WAFL club to inform the WAFL website who's out l' with what and for how long? Perhaps SD are the ones dragging their feet letting their own fans know who's injured?

fair point Freezin. Swans are not that forthcoming with information about injuries to their members so they may not be that communicative with the WAFC either

watching this one and it's quite interesting at half time - West Perth not entirely convincing and Swan Districts battling along
One thing I'm noticing is how poor the standard of umpiring is this season and I thought they were bad last season and made it known several times but this is an all time low performance bar in 2023 - today there's two umpires at Bassendean who are not competent enough to umpire football in WA , maybe some amateur or country league
Could go any way but I fear these "umpires" will sway the result you can just see it

well after half time the skills dropped off quite a bit - lots of errors and it probably came down to West Perth's experienced players being just that bit more precise

Bit of heart break for swannies supporters with today's result. That means swans lost the last three matches by a combined 12 points. Tough ask next week on the road taking on South's at Fremantle Oval.

Agree with Southerners comment.
Swans battled hard late in the second qtr
Against the breeze.
Didn't use the breeze well I'm the 3rd.
Done really well to battle it out.
Wests just a little bigger in key positions+ Kick to targets not hand passing to players under pressure.
Talking to WP fans on the outer bank+ Black Swan bar. There not happy with the way there playing..

We are not playing well at all atm, Forward line gets too congested where the opposition side hit a lead up player hand over fist. We lack the extra tall in Hamilton, when he's back it will free up Pegoraro. Speaking of Pegs, he is a gun, turned the game for us in the last qtr in the ruck and around the ground. Brilliant game by Nelly and Nathan Murray's return to League duties with 3 goals and 30+ possessions was a beauty !!!

Now to $ubi !

Nathan Alexandre, Premiership player now and really come into his own. Nath was the whipping boy for a period of time at the selection table and stuck at it, very underrated and we like it that way.

Swans will never have a better opportunity to beat West Perth than they did today. The Premiers were well below their best and we had them on the rack half way through the 3rd quarter with a 3 goal lead. Swans missed an opportunity to make it a 4 goal margin which would have made it very tough for them on a hot day. 10 minutes later West Perth had scored 3 to bring things back level at 3 quarter time. Although the boys fought the game out, West Perth lifted their game when they needed to in the final term and were always going to run out winners from there.

Credit to West Perth for finding a way to win when they weren't playing well, they will be up there and amongst the main contenders as I'm sure they will get their mojo back at some stage.

As for Swans, another honourable loss I guess but its so frustrating that the same mistakes are made week in week out with no apparent improvement. I'm talking about poor kicking and handballing under pressure, sloppy ball handling and a game plan that seems to favour going to goals the hard way around the flanks rather than straight up the middle of the ground.

Ironically Swans last goal was scored by a quick transference of play straight down the middle of the ground. The only problem was that it was 32 minutes into the last quarter when the game was over! Maybe this can be a message that occasionally quick ball movement may catch the opposition out and lead to some easier goals.

Doesnt get any easier next week with us playing South Fremantle at a ground we don't have a good record. Looks like Fisher got hurt today too so those injuries are starting to pile up.
Some other random observations from the game

1. Much better contest in the centre with Doc Blakely in the ruck, we did get a fair share of clearances
2. Promising debut by the Geelong recruit McLaughan
3. Brandon Erceg is an absolute gun. Lost count of the number of intercept marks he took today. Collins was good too and in fact all the defence worked well together again.
4. Thomas Edwards is a talented player but he is too focused on trying to take mark of the year, he may succeed but he will drop a lot too. Boring chest marks are OK too Tom!
5. I believe O'Donohue got reported for an incident in the last quarter.
6. Finally a question for West Perth supporters. Why is Keitel playing for you and not on an AFL list? I'm sure you're happy he's been passed over so far but in my view he has a lot of attributes that would go down well in an AFL club (e.g Freo) He's a big boy, fast on the lead, a good pack mark and a very accurate kick for goal.
PS: Delighted to see Tony Notte turned out for the reserves today. Did anyone see the ressies game? Would be interested in finding out how he went. The stats said he got 8 touches I assume from a limited game time?
