After yet another disappointing close loss to WP this week we head back to Basso to take on Subi only a month after doing so in Kalgoorlie due to these ridiculous fixtures.
We never really got going at all last week and will need a massive improvement against Subi who have been quietly getting wins on the board all driven by their usual experienced group.
Lets hope they actually learnt something from the last clash only a month ago but experience tells me otherwise!

BH, should be a ripper game, very evenly matched teams at the moment, both clubs have had some injury issues so a lot will depend on who runs out on Saturday. We were average against a WCER team with just 6 listed players but had 6 or so just getting over the flu, hopefully those guys will be fully fit this week. We ran the game out better last time but for 3 qtrs it was nip n tuck. Being on your paddock it may just give you that edge. Less than a goal either way is my tip.

The weather around the grounds on match day is looking good. Apparently 19 or 20⁰ being forecast with fine conditions. Should be the match of the day this one. Being at Bassendean, should see Swans coming away with a 2 or 3 goal win I would think. On their day, they can be exciting to watch. After dropping last week's match, Swans would be eager to stay in touch with the top four. Conversely, Subiaco are making their move up the league ladder and also need to keep bagging premiership points. Going to be good viewing this game.

I think this game will set the tone for the rest of the season. If Swans can beat another one of their bogey sides after earlier victories over South Fremantle and Claremont, they will be sitting on a 6 win 4 loss record and have a springboard for a serious finals push. Its also an opportunity to pretty much put Subiaco out of business.  However defeat will leave us on equal points with the Lions and  scrapping with them and Peel for 5th spot. We just need to make sure we play 4 quarters of footy this time ,not 3 as we did in Kalgoorlie and start actually believing that we can beat these blokes.

Similar stats these teams with Swans currently having kicked 95 goals to Subi's 93. Swans collecting 2,890 ball disposals thus far to Subiaco of 2,783. Both teams currently have a shade less than 50% of the game ball disposals. At the moment the Home team is running a 0.96 offence rate whereas Subi is slightly behind at 0.95

Assuming no last minute COVID outs the team is pretty close to full strength so no excuses today.
Subiaco look stronger than when they last played us in Kalgoorlie so it will take 4 quarters of sustained effort to come away with the points. Swans have to get the minds into positive mode because we have had such a wretched run against these guys over the last 8 years that they definitely have a psychological advantage over us if the game gets tight, but I am hoping the team is good enough to overcome that given that they have broken a few hoodoos this year
Perfect day for footy, should be a great contest.

There was an inkling Swans would be good enough to win today. Their winning margin being a surprise and being set up by Swans big third quarter effort. Swan Districts started slight favourites against Subi which has not happened very often of late at 1$ 73 for the win. Whereas Subiaco were sitting on 2 dollars 10 for the win. Be interesting to see the league ladder at this rounds end.

Awesome win by the boys. Just checked the records and that was Swans biggest win over Subiaco since 1996. Shows how much they have dominated us over the past 25 years and it was good to get one back

Well done to Swans. Your mob were far too good and completely outworked Subi which is something our guys prided themselves in years gone by. Our finals chances are shot but you guys will give it a real crack given the evenness of the comp so good luck for the rest of the year.

Back To The Future 1970's and 80's Wafl footy.
Lovley day for Wafl footy .With a strange south easterly blowing over the scoreboard,a summer breeze .
The first half was like a game of tennis.
Both defences where on top and the footy, went up and down the ground. With long kicking and agressive running.Like the Wafl footy we all grew up with.Fantastc speed and skill and tempo footy.
Swans continued that way in the 3rd qtrSubi would regret some of there first half easy misses.
Both sides went into the game with similar game plans. And both sides tried to blow each other out of the game. With a big scoring half of footy.
Red headed footballers stand out on the footy field. And Swans have two rippers playing atm.
