Before I forget I should give kudos to the new scoreboard and lights at Lathlain Park as they are certainly both the best in the WAFL now by far.
It would be nice if all WAFL grounds had similar especially in the early rounds and even leading up to finals when the weather is pretty warm during the day, as it certainly was a lot more pleasant watching the match in balmy conditions under lights then the first 2 rounds baking in the sun in 30 degrees!
Hopefully the WACA's lights are utilised for WAFL footy upcoming as well?!

The atmosphere at both the night games the last 2 weeks have been fantastic. Some very big crowds at Lathlain park for both night games made it brilliant and the big new scoreboard also ads to the atmosphere. I reckon the crowds have been bigger than the reported crowds.

Welcome to the forum Dosser. I agree that the atmosphere was great on Saturday night and the acoreboard is absolutely brilliant. I recall that awful one on the back of the ute they were using in previous years, it broke down one day and we had to keep track of the scores on the WAFL app!. Its great to play twilight games in Autumn, its so pleasant to sit out on a balmy evening as it was on Saturday

Totally agree Mike & Dosser.
Unfortunately many old time WAFL supporters are fixated with starting at 2.10 on a Saturday arvo as the best time to play which is not always the case.
We have to avoid playing live straight up against the WCE & Freo in the afl whenever possible.
Early in the year Saturday and or Friday nights would be great whilst the weather is still warm, it is far more pleasant viewing than sitting in the baking 30 degrees we have played the first 2 games in, even Saturday was warm but was perfect weather by the time of bouncedown at 5.10pm.
Lathlain & the WACA have quality lighting, hopefully the other grounds get similar funding to replicate for their grounds as well.
