A big clash this week for both Swans and the Sharks after competitive efforts in Rd1 but both not able to come away with the 4 points away from home.
For Swans we went down in yet another close game and that in itself has become unfortunately an all too familiar result in the last 5 years.
Not sure who is or isnt available this weekend for us at this stage, the Reserves had a win so a few boys from that young group might have put their hand up for a debut.

EF were pretty good from all reports against a fully stacked with Dockers Peel side.
The likes of Marsh, Eardley, Baskerville, Boekhorst, English, Murdock, Jansen Schoenfeld, O'Reilly, Goddard, Leggett, Jupp, Gorringe etc are all quality WAFL players and we will have to play a lot better for far longer periods this week than was evident in Rd1 vs EP where I thought we were ordinary in patches.

Also becoming a habit for Swans is losing in round 1. 4 years in a row now. Hopefully they will play 4 quarters of footy in front of their home crowd this week. The Sharks are not intimidated by Bassendean Oval though, the last 8 games have been split 4-4. Should be a cracker of a game and the weather looks perfect for it.

Definitely a win game for both sides, was surprised SD lost to EP, but interesting to read both EP & SD have first round droughts dating back years....think EP was nearly 8 years?

Should be a good contest, great to see SD playing young Hewitt in the league, wish EF did the same with Hagan.....though good to see young Walker debut last week v Peel. One would expect Palmer to come out firing this week, or did he get injured early on v EP? Ryan Kemp looked like he will kick SD a few goals this year, no doubt Fisher will be missing his midfield mate Anderson, but Turner always plays well v EF.

Any standouts in the colts from SD I should be looking out for on the live stream? EF colts look awfully small this year, so not expecting much from this year's group....lot of under agers as well.....

Based on last week going to be a long year for Swans with the current game plan. Anderson out and no replacement and Cipro has health issues so we have no strength to get the ball out of the packs against big mids like EP had and EF have.
We have good forwards, no idea why we want to have so many disposals getting it in there

Freeze Bryce Watson from last seasons Colts Premiership team also made his League debut along with E.Hewett last week vs EP.

MO I was wondering why Cipro had been missing from all the games so far this year, have seen him at the games but not playing obviously, he is one we desperately missed last week, I hope he is ok?

The Colts are playing on Sunday 9.10am this week with the Reserves on at 9am tomorrow, the WAFLW at 11.40am and the League at 2pm with an Anzac Service before the game as well.
I believe our SDFC Integrated side will make their debut this week as well playing after the League game has finished.

Only one change, Riley in for Hewitt. I thought Hewitt did enough last week to warrant another chance but I'm sure he will get further opportunities. Good news in that Cipro, Bright, Waite and Ottoviano have all been named in the reserves game. Cipro was particularly missed last week in the midfield so hopefully he can be pushing for a league spot next week.

Reckon SD forward boys might enjoy playing against EF under sized defense....Noble might kick another bag, though I reckon Palmer might fill his boots instead.....should be a good contest in the middle though. SD by 18 points.

I think our midfield was a bit down last week Freezin, Fisher was tagged effectively and they certainly will miss Anderson this year. Turner and Clarke were OK and Pina from Peel played well in his first game. Kemp is also a good mid size forward with an accurate kick so EF defence will have to keep an eye on him as well as Palmer who was very rusty last week. I think this will be a high scoring close game of footy.

Just had a look at the reserves score and stats and none of the above names appear even though they were named yesterday. Also Warwick Wilson is not playing reserves. It makes me wonder if they are being held back due to a COVID issue that may have arisen in the club. Will be interesting to see the composition of the team that runs out at 2pm.
