TOPIC:

I was just checking the fixtures for the first half of 2013 and discovered that including tomorrow, there have been 13 Saturday afternoons since the start of the season. Unfortunately Swans have played on only 7 of these Saturdays - just over half. This has been due to 4 byes including the State Game and two games on other days. I don't know about other supporters but I am finding it very difficult to keep my interest going in a season which is so disjointed ( I don't know how the players must be feeling).

After a great win last week, it would have been perfect to have a home game against East Fremantle or West Perth or anyone this week, but no, instead we have another free afternoon on Saturday. No Eagles or Dockers either so an opportunity missed to attract an extra crowd.

I know we have all banged on about fixturing this year but I can't help thinking as we get further into the season that the WAFC is shooting itself in the foot with its scheduling. Whether it is deliberate or not is a matter of opinion and how much you believe in conspiracy theories.

Tell me about it mike ..whatever happened to the great old days of watching your team play on 21 Saturday arvo's in a row (maybe more if you were lucky enough to make the finals)??

I agree. It's a farken shambles. Perth seem to be not playing more than playing.

Listening to the ABC sports show and heard Ken Judge say he was totally bewildered by the WAFL fixturing so we are in pretty good company

I'm convinced the wafc is operating under direct instructions from Trevor Nesbitt to kill the wafl. It is not humanly possible to have made the fixtures this season any worse than they are.

I agree with you goodie ..they do absolutely nothing in the way of promoting the comp, the fixtures are nothing short of a farce so bad in fact I reckon Daryl Sinclair must have drawn them up!!
