Back home again this week to take on Peel after a disappointing loss to EF last weekend.
A combination of lack of intensity early, poor kicking (both at goal and to teammates) and a desperate EF once again showed if we are not at 100% we will get rolled.
We are not a side that can get away with half hearted efforts, we need all 22 players contributing which has been unfamiliar for too long now.
We also have to realise the objective of the game is too kick more goals than the opposition and the more you can kick it makes it harder for the opposition, which then means you have to get the ball into scoring areas quickly and efficiently and back handballs, backwards & sideways kicks do not hurt the opposition on the scoreboard whatsoever!
I daresay we will lose Beck with that knee injury which is a shame as he has really come on this season.
Not sure if Gault is available again this week after missing the last few games?

Gault not in the team again, obviously his concussion was more serious than average or he has another injury. Beck is the only out this week as expected. The Peel team is bereft of Dockers players apart from Conca, so all their grades are seriously undermanned. All things being equal it should be a hat trick for the colts, ressies and league on Saturday. The league team need to be ruthless in their approach and in doing so snuff out any faint mathematical hope that EF and EP might have to make the finals. It will be wet but I would expect Swans to rebound from their below par performance last week and win by at least 7 or 8 goals.

Gault must have another injury Mike as 3 weeks for concussion would seem excessive unless it was a bad one?

On another note it looks like we will have a debutant tomorrow with Dugan coming in for the injured Beck who hopefully didnt suffer a season ending knee injury?

If Jake gets a game that will be brilliant, he is a great bloke and deserves his chance. Left EP played ammo's to develop his game and went to Swans.

The issue for you will be controlling his grand dad, one of the legends at EP and a brilliant man & story teller, No 16 who won the 72 GF for us!

Certainly is, Gary and I often talk abt Jake, in fact last Sunday Gary and I were bemoaning the fact that as the current Ressies F&B at Swans he had not got the chance to play league and now hopefully he will get his chance.

An awful game of football, for the first three quarters it looked like a scrap for the wooden spoon, in the last quarter Swans were more direct and were rewarded with 6 goals. To give it some perspective Peel were a virtual reserves team with Conca and  a few  other league standard players. Peel did have a real crack and I lost count of the number of times their midfielders sharked Germs taps. Our guys looked disinterested for most of the afternoon and the sort of football they produced today will not stack up against East Perth next week, never mind one of the teams playing finals.

Solid effort Grump, wish he had played earlier to give him a run of games ahead of a few coach favourites.
