After yet another weekend of no WAFL footy this week we venture back to Basso for the first time since the 17th April (yes more than a month ago) to take on the top of the ladder all conquering Lions.
After yet another waving the white flag limp last qtr performance against WP in our last clash one would hope there is a far greater effort and will to win than that put up at Joondalup a fortnight ago.
Didnt watch the SA vs who can the WAFC showcase to afl recruiters clash on the weekend so have no idea how Fisher & Gault went or how they have pulled up but at least we should get Turner, Jetta & possibly Riggio back whilst Subi will also expect to get a few back from injury as well.

The last time Swans beat Subiaco was in Round 20 2015 at Bassendean. It was a 1 point win on the back of an amazing 20 tackle performance by Ryan Davis.
Since then Subiaco have beaten us 11 times in a row with the following margins
39,34, 74, 64, 29, 96, 82, 52, 18, 62, 39
Average defeat 54 points

Given these figures, I don't think Subiaco will be exactly  quaking in their boots at the prospect of coming to Bassendean on Saturday. This sequence of losses will eventually be broken but I'm not sure if the current group is quite up to the task as yet.

Spot on Mike.
We will in fact no doubt roll out the red carpet for Subi to run out on to Basso much like we do for CL, SF & WP in the last decade!

Yes I recall in the 70s and 80's, even when Swans we were at or near the bottom of the ladder, it was still a very unpleasant afternoon for any opposition coming to Bassendean. If the away teams happened to escape with the 4 points they were made to earn it and they knew they had been in a game by the bruises they had.
Now teams like Subiaco have a nice ride in a bus up to the Bombo Valley, have a bracing run around, put down some token resistance early in the game and then spend the 2nd half manoeuvring  around a few training cones and waltzing away with the premiership points.
As a first step Swans need to get back to a bit of "unsociable football" at Bassendean. All within the rules of course....

Pretty sure every WAFL club has rolled out the red carpet for Subi over the past 15 years lads....definitely know EF has.

I see SD are celebrating Tony Notte's 250th this weekend v Subi...again!

I can recall times when a 20 goal thrashing was not a bad result for Subi when going out to Basso in the late 70's and early 80's
in fact going to any opposition oval in the late 70's and early 80's we craved a brave defeat rather than the endless thrashings at the hands of SD, Cl and SF in particular.

Is the Abuse Crew still alive and well? I recall a certain Bundy Girl was right amongst it for a while there....a class act if I remember correctly.

Nah pretty good humoured place Bassendean is these days BC. The Swans Bars are pretty rowdy at times but the abuse is mainly tossed at the umpires.
The only place I find a bit too much is the Mcdonald stand where this particular group gather every week and abuse everything that is not running around in a black and white jumper.

Ric from @waflfootyfacts will be able to provide the correct info but I believe this will be Tony's 250th WAFL game this weekend Freeze as opposed to his 250th game for SD last match which also included a Foxtel Cup match against a VFL side.
Tony has also played 2 afl games and 6 or 7 State Games for WA as well on top of this.
