Laddies....what a result. Since the fat controller left and the financial governance was run by men With vision the team led by Peter snow and the like have pulled us out of the mire. It’s been a hard row to hoe but this CEO and board have been outstanding and have set the swannies up for a decade of success on and off the field. Get on board. What a great effort- that’s outstanding. Swans are really getting a lot right on and off the field- didn’t they make a heap the season before as well?

the question that was raised at our AGM was abt the consequences of such good fiscal result for all clubs with the disbursement from the AFL clubs and WA government through the WAFC.

AFL clubs would have benefited from Jobkeeper as well Grump.

Accepted but the AFL will pay the VFL their money, these results in the WAFL will have an impact of what is paid to clubs. I maybe a pessimist and hopefully I wrong yet again but the WAFC have yet to prove its truly behind the WAFL and this will be its first test,

Fair point, a profit of 900k is an eye watering amount they have obviously benefited enormously from their association with BHP which has now ended I believe so will be interested to see their next P&L next year and beyond.

I don’t think even $ubiaco came within a bulls roar of posting an annual profit like that when they had rights to 500 tickets to any event at Subiaco Oval.

Bullshit it's got nothing to do with BHP. If you have profited from Jobkeeper it means you earned the income and saved on the expense of salaries that you would have otherwise had to pay.

Someone said before you received 1.5 million from BHP so I assume you have been receiving that or thereabouts every year of the deal. You should have been dominating the competition over the last 10 years with that sort of backing.

Unless I'm mistaken and BH can correct me here....the new generation sponsorship by BHP had nothing to do with SD's football operations and was set up to assist indigenous youth in remote areas by giving them an opportunity to play footy. It's not for profit and runs in conjunction with the clubs community development programmes. If that is the case, then I still can't figure out how SD have 30 employees over and above that particular programme. Off the top of my head, Subi for instance has around six or eight including the CEO, office staff, business development, community relations, and so on...maybe a couple more than 6 but certainly not 30.

Hah nice one Dazzler.
DD - the bhp money goes towards funding and employing people in the Pilbara to run community programs.
Now the funding has ceased so those people are no longer Swans employees.
Pretty simple folks you get money to run community programs and then you employ people so therefore they are employees.
Swans have helped Perth set something up in the metro area and South have the Stephen Michael foundation running programs, plenty of govt and business money out there for these programs
