Lachlan Riley at CHF? Saw him play last week, seemed a small forward or midfielder? Just usual selection nonsense I guess

Yeah some of our line ups that come out on the Thursday night have been laughable in the last couple of years.
No one named in their proper positions, for example small guys named at Full Forward or Centre Half Forward, Centre Half Back etc and key position players named on the flanks, pockets or wing...I take them with a grain of salt!

I guess it’s just an indication of modern footy where there is no match ups,it’s just 18 versus 18! Goddammitt

Well after what has occurred this afternoon and evening this game will be a bit of an anti- climax and Channel 7 has completely missed an opportunity. Just imagine the excitement if they had televised the game from Lathlain instead of an irrelevant AFL game

A good finish to this shortened season beating EF pretty easily down there.
Kicking into that perennial gale down there that never seems to let up we did a good job to be only a point down at qtr time.
Then in the 2nd qtr after going back to the usual 2020 handball happy, sideways, backwards crap we coughed up 2 goals kicking with it until suddenly thanks to Jesse Turner and a couple of others we finally decided to actually kick the ball long and direct and bingo 6 goals are on the board in quick time, including a couple each to 200 gamer Riggs & JT & an incredible goal from Lachie Riley that Gary The Goat Lyon would have been proud of the turn on it.
How many times do we have to say shelve that handball happy shit and just kick long and direct to our forwards who can all take a strong grab before it sinks in?????
The 3rd qtr we actually did well to outscore them into can you believe an even freshening gale down there and took time out of the game to just starve EF of the footy and when they did get it put them under pressure so there were no lace out kicks to their forwards.
The last qtr was a bit of a slog on what was a warm and windy day but Riggs with a shot on the siren was denied another goal by a goal umpire with obviously no sense of occasion!
Great to see another guard of honour for a couple of WAFL (and AFL in Griffins case) warriors in Griffin & Payne who announced they were hanging up the boots during the week...well done to both clubs for the send offs.

A good finish to the year from Swans but another wasted season as far as missing finals and chances to win more games just from a lack of composure and finishing...hopefully these are all rectified in 2021 as long as the players do the work required to improve their football and start to believe in themselves as they have showed they can compete with those above them but let themselves down with poor periods during games and brain fades which have to be eradicated!

Our effort was good again today, most players are going hard now for 4 quarters.
Bayok needs to cut out the flashy stuff and get in more and Riley attack it harder.
Once we decide to play footy we are good to watch, over handball and Cipro being selfish kept East Freo in the game but we sorted that out after mid 2nd quarter.
Hopefully fitter and stronger next season.
Jones a mate of the vic lads is supposedly coming, played plenty of vfl, key position.
Well done Payney, a real worker and gives 100% every game and still going late in games, always rated his efforts.
Well done also to Griffen, loyal servant.
Boekhurst played a good game

Beasley. hate to say I told you so. But I told you so. 3 out of 4 to end the year and you owe me a steak. I agree though with you that it could have been so much more if not for that 4th quarter in rd 1 where we failed to hit a black and white jumper.

I should add well done to both Riggs on game 200 for the Black & Whites (the 200th that really counts) and Stevie Payne's 150th.
Both have been great SD & WAFL servants Riggs with 2 Swan Medals, 2 games for WA & a Premiership player whilst Payne won EP's F&B back in 2014.

Kudos also to Jesse Turner on a superb game on his wing with 32 disposals and 3 goals and showed the way in the 2nd qtr by utilising the breeze to advantage with a couple of long bombs on the run from well outside 50.

Whilst the League team finished the season in better shape than they started unfortunately the Colts & Reserves didnt quite come up to the mark in this abbreviated season.
There is some talent there to work with for sure and results in the younger grades is not all about winning flags but we do need to make sure they are ready for senior footy both physically and mentally as we really have to hit the ground running in 2021 as we took too long to get our footy going this year and yes a tough fixture didnt help our cause but it was over before we knew it and by the time we were starting to play some decent footy the season is done and dusted.

the team looked a lot more settled in the last part of the season.
i think there is too much focus on who is coming through out of the colts in the last few years and blokes have been gifted league games instead of being consistent reserves players.
kids like Grainger-Barras are the exception, the rest should be developing in reserves instead of getting thrown into league footy.
More, Bright, Watson and a few others are not league standard yet, Beck is another one that is still making the same mistakes and disposal is ordinary.
we wont compete with the top sides unless we improve our bottom group of players.
Spackman is a good example of someone coming through at a later age, 22 after some colts footy and then ammos and can mix it in league footy.
