90% of the game was played between half back and half forward, very boring.
Our forwards need to take out a deck chair to sit down and wait for our midfield and half back line to decide to kick it in their direction.
Kohlman hardly had a chance all day and our small forwards came into the game late when we decided to move the ball directly, some good running goals

I am still not sure what happened to Clarkey MO but assume he was sent for further medical attention as he wasnt even on the bench or that I could see at the ground after half time.
George you would doubt would play again this year after having a similar problem at the start of the season and in previous years.
Costigan probably damaged his finger when he was dangerously, unceremoniously pushed in the back over the fence in which incredibly he did not even receive a free kick for from that muppet Shelton....could you imagine if that had happened to anyone of the maggots lil darling favourites in Black, Schloithe, Nelson, Bolton, Mitchell etc?....it would have not only been a free kick, it would have been a report, a 50m penalty and a possible send off if we had have done it...but we unbelievably didnt even receive a free kick!
Freeze will probably still go off the wafl site injury listing and say we have had no injuries in 2020 though!

Well done to the team for getting the 4 points. They did make hard work of it but all that matters in the end is that they got the win. I thought Swans were in control for most of the day. The only time I was a bit nervous was a period in the 3rd Quarter when Peel peppered the goals and kicked 2 goals 5 ( including 3 posters) to our 1 point to momentarily regain the lead whereupon Swans lifted and snatched back the ascendancy before 3 quarter time. However if Peel had kicked 5 - 2 instead of 2- 5 they would have been in a position to put some serious scoreboard pressure on us in the last quarter.

Rotten luck for Hampson to seemingly twang his hamstring just before the end of the match, he was one of our prime movers along with Gault, Payne, Turner and Cipro.
Peel really had a fair bit of the play but failed to get any reward for it apart from that small patch in the 3rd quarter. They have a solid core of half a dozen experienced WAFL players but fall away rather badly after that and their main goal appears to be to prevent the opposition scoring too heavily.

Despite that I still am struggling to understand what Swans game plan is on any given day and what they are trying to do out there. Their game appears to depend a lot on handballing( they nearly had as many handballs as kicks in the game). Many of those handballs sold their teammates into trouble and gifted possession back to the opposition.
Yet in the last quarter they reverted to some long kicking into the forward 50 to one on one contests and Bingo! we scored some goals. Noble clunked some really good marks yesterday but many of them were in the midfield where he can't kick goals. Kohlmann is also a good mark and kick but he was starved of opportunities as well.

Swans play their best footy when they are direct and move the ball quickly by foot. The third quarter against WP and last weeks first quarter against SF are classic examples but they have to do this for more than one quarter in a match if we want to put more wins on the board.

With Hampson, Aiden Clarke and Costigan all likely to miss next week it might be time to give Ty Sears and/or Zane Trew a taste of the big time next week at Leederville

Don't wish to get off topic. Interesting to read the high rate of handballing in the above post.
That is spot on because Swans have currently accomplished 802 kicks which is just below the league average. Then 637 handballs which is second to West Perth and way above the league average figure.

Just heard that Braydon Noble has got 2 weeks from the tribunal for a clash with Peel player Jordan Boullineau. Didn't look that awful but the Peel guy was concussed and played no further part in the game so that would have gone against Noble. I think that the WAFL tribunal has become a lot harsher this year as offences that would previously get a reprimand or fines are now getting suspensions as evidenced by Matt Rogers being rubbed out for 3 weeks.

I dont even remember an incident involving Noble Mike? 2 weeks is ludicrous, I hope we are challenging this?

I had a pretty good view of the incident BH, happened in the first quarter on the scoreboard wing. It was a nasty collision and a little late but I didnt think there was anything malicious in Nobles action. The tribunal assessed it as careless and high contact and obviously the outcome wasn't good either. Swans are considering appealing it although if they fail the suspension will go up to three weeks which would end Braydons season.

Marley wrote: And mike that’s quite a silly statement in my view. We’ll win 3 of our last 4 injury permitting. A couple we’ll win by plenty too. Anyone want to bet me a steak meal on it?

Happy to take up your bet Marley as you have been wrong 4 times already this season!

My preference is a scotch fillet cooked medium with vegies and a mushroom sauce thanks.

Well Marley you already have my order above, now just the venue to be decided...One of the valued SDFC sponsors like- Mandoon Estate, The Vines, Hainault Vineyard Cafe, Lone Star Rib House, Varsity Bar, Metro Hotel, Chidlow Tavern, Forrest Centre Tavern, Woodbridge Hotel etc should suffice! B)
