Great article in the West today about the Swans 2007 premiership colts team. Arguably the best underage club team in history. No less than 12 players in this team were drafted on to AFL lists. Alex Rance, Nic Naitanui, Michael Walters, Clancee Pearce, Lewis Jetta, Neville Jetta, Jeff Garlett, Chris Yarran, Todd Banfield, Tony Notte, David Ellard and Luke Pratt. Most players in that team got to at least WAFL league level and not surprisingly won the Grand Final by 10 goals. Because so many of these guys were snapped up by AFL clubs, only 3 ended up playing in the league 2010 premiership, Pearce and Walters who were at Freo but had qualified to play and also Brett Wolfenden. Nic Nat had played too many games for the Eagles and therefore didn't qualify and the really unlucky guy was Notte who played the whole of 2010 but was dropped after the second semi final. Stephen Potente also played the preliminary final of 2010 but made way for Walters in the Grand Final.

Absolutely cracking Colts side that one was Mike.
Was lucky enough to watch virtually every one of their games that year and some of the football was just sublime to watch, huge screamers, incredible goals, run and stun, dashing runs down the ground etc.
20 of the 22 that played that day all went on to play WAFL League footy (the emergencies all did as well) and 12 played in the AFL.
The 2008 Colts team and the 1991 side were pretty darn good as well that won Premierships.

Swans also won the Colts flag in 2008. Michael Walters, Steve Potente, Simon Parry and Neville Jetta played in their 2nd Colts flag in a row when Swans defeated Perth by 44 points.

I was at that game at the start of the second half and farrrrk it was cold and rained like f... Cleared up later by the time the league started. The conditions played into Swans hands, smaller quicker side. Perth were the dominant colts team throughout the season and finished on top from memory but were a big tall side.

I’d love to see the Perth colts GF line-up and see who went on after that.
Get on your bike.
It was Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

I have a copy of the stats from the game. I'll scan it later and upload it so you can see who was in the Perth team

Swans Colts finished on top of the ladder in both 2007 & 08.
The rain came down in the 2nd half of the Colts but we already had a substantial lead by then and it really bucketed down in the Reserves game after before clearing in time for the League GF.
Michael Walters was on a complete another level to everyone else with his sublime skills (he did also play League footy that year as well) whilst the tough Neville Jetta in the guts (who also played League footy in 08) won the Whinnen Medal for best on ground in the 08 Colts GF.

Do you have the stats from the 1991 Colts GF SF4L?

Interestingly 8 of those boys- Naitanui, J.Garlett, Notte, Pullman, Yarran, Wolfenden, Banfield & Pearce all went on to play in the League team's GF the next year against SU Mike.
All bar Pullman & Wolfenden were eligible to play Colts in 08 as well but were promoted early to the Seniors by Daws whilst Walters & N.Jetta played League in 08 but played in the Colts Premiership that year.

Best I could do there is a scan of the team lists from the Budget with the scores. I kept stats for the team that day and was hoping I could hang on to them.
