SNM you are a newcomer to Ozfooty. Moderators were set up so supporters of their own club can control their own clubs board. They can only moderate their clubs board. The main reason for this is so topics don't get derailed and so supporters don't have to put up with their clubs board being constantly attacked by trolls. That being said there is nothing wrong with a bit of banter and humour but if you overstep the mark expect your post to be deleted.

I hear what you are saying OFA but I would have thought any posts even those that are negative or outside the scope of the thread or contrary to the views of the relevant mod are better than no posts at all which is where we are heading on the Peel thread. It is the most heavily vetted of all the club sites and if I have to put up with all the crap about Subi then surely RD needs to grow some plums and accept the alignment is going to cop a fair bit of flack and wear it....it's a free country and we're each entitled to our opinions after all. I would have far more respect for RD and maybe Peel FC if he stood up for his club in the face of criticism rather than deleting it and making it go away.

I think we have covered this before BC. There has been plenty of topics and debate elsewhere under the many other non club boards available that are not moderated and people have been free to post their thoughts without moderation.

A/man...banter includes criticism and a difference of opinion or train of thought which currently is not allowed on the Peel thread. If we could post stuff which doesn't line up with the views of RD and not get it deleted then maybe more posters would engage with him/her...but sadly that's not the case at present.

As a relative newcomer to the forum, I could understand that Club thread mods needed to maintain some discipline over their threads, to cut out the trolls.

However, posting (in my view) provocative posts on your own (modded) thread seemed to be inviting provocative responses - which has been compounded by the god-like power to delete anything you (as the mod) didn't like.

I seem to remember from the distant past of Goss that there was a mod on the Sth Freo thread who acted in a similar manner.

A/man...we can't post stuff that's not aligned with RD's point of view as he/she deletes it. Banter is whatever you want it to be but to delete anything that's remotely controversial or negative or even attacking as you put it is rubbish. A quick question....are you Rookie Draft in disguise?
