big turnaround in Brisbane
and a startling 7-52 haul from Rocchiccioli
too late to salvage a disappointing campaign
but again a big turnaround from last week's abysmal embarrassments

Looked like we could get a bi first innings lead at 3 for 218 but then collapsed to 7 for 245, hopfully we can get the lead over 300

Fantastic all round performance by the Warriors which has resurrected a season that looked gone after the humiliating defeat by SA. Good to see Morris getting a few wickets in the 2nd innings and of course Rocchicciolis return to form was a highlight. Overall the bowlers worked as a unit with Paris and Gannon making useful contributions as well.

The batting is still a concern though with another middle order collapse but they were thankfully rescued by some lower order runs to give WA a decent lead. Bad luck for Fanning to miss out on his maiden century.

Looks like NSW are going to beat the Vics which will tighten up the ladder. WA could even jump from last to 2nd depending on the result of the SA v Tas game.

If SA win their current game the final will almost certainly be in Adelaide with every other team still in the running for the 2nd spot. WA have their last two games at home ( advantage or disadvantage?) playing NSW and Vic. Depending on how far Australia get in the Champions Trophy ( I doubt if they will make the semis TBH), we might get Hardie, Inglis and Connelly back for at least one of those games plus the final if we make it. Also Cam Green will play as a batsman in the last qualifying round and potentially the final as well.

They would have no fears about playing in Adelaide against a team that will be playing its first final in many years
If WA can pull this off it would be the best of the 4 shield wins, they have played very ordinary cricket for most of the season but like footy, it is how you are playing at the business end of the season that counts

being honest that is probably the weakest Queensland team for nearly 3 decades
they are in a bit of a regeneration phase
and really after last week's shameful performance
WA had to bare teeth and then bite hard
that would be the best thing to come out of this fixture
brilliant to see Morris get amongst it and bowl very fast
Morris is a diamond
McDonald and his band of selectors need to get him in soon

Made it a clean sweep of QLD at the Gabba this week after winning by an innings in the SS today we knocked over the Banana Benders over for 131 and then polished off the runs in 26 overs.
Good to see our young fast bowlers in Jackson 4/39, Couch, 3/45 & Beardman 2/22 amongst the wickets.

On another note how well is Mitch Owen from TAS hitting them at the moment.
Following on from his BBL heroics he hit an astonishing 149 (from 69 balls) today.
Not sure how he is not in the CT squad over in Pakistan tbh!

Owen has emerged as a genuine power hitter who can also bowl quite handily - could very easily replace Mitchell Marsh and do it well , he's come on fast and today was no fluke!
I thought he should have gone to Pakistan when Marsh went down injured again too mate

Let's just hope Punter doesn't pump up Owen's tyres like he did with FMG last year....great to see Owen show his clean hitting prowess, obviously a talent.....but let him back it up again in the BBL and domestic ODI's  this summer before throwing him on  the white ball international stage after one season.

It's a big jump from domestic to international level, as the likes of Short,  Lynn, McDermott, JMG et al have found out.
