Ironic to celebrate the 2018 wooden spoon at the reunion for the 1998 premiership side......sums up this season perfectly.......the loss was kinda expected considering 4 colts boys debuting plus another first gamer, tho SD weren't lacking in youth either....tho this was a SD side that hasn't looked like kicking a goal for weeks apparently...but end up kicking farking 18!.....

....how did the youngsters go?.......Definitely need to build a forward line around Loersch it seems....great to see Cronan and Watson providing a contest from the looks of things against a more experienced ruck duo in Blakely and Gault.....

Good win by the reserves....Bonomelli and Jackson to debut v EP perhaps?..not sure the point of giving more games to the likes of Holmes, Creasey, Wynne and McCarrey for the rest of the season.....try some others and give them a taste of league over the remaining 3 games......

Seems like the colts clash was a close affair with both sides missing a lot of regulars.....great to see another 2 under 16 boys in Dann and Walker debut......from the sounds of things another young Gero 17yr old may get a league debut soon perhaps.... in Jai Jackson....every time he comes down to play from Gero, he is EF best in the colts......no O'Reilly today either....

what number spoon is this for EF?....number 3 or 4?....no doubt Dunbar will be giving Wiley a "congratulatory" call soon.......

Just take the good with the bad mate. What goes up must come down and what goes does should come up eventually!

Listening to the post game wrap up, Ablett (who, apparently is on the selection committee), said there have been a few well credentialed applications for the coaching position, yet I am still reading that there are no applications as yet. WTF??

Someone has to "win" it true.....despite the steady stream of injuries, the team has under performed big time.....

58.....folk will apply mate.....closing date not till the 4th?....hopefully the efforts of Loersch and the youngsters across all 3 grades, will show any prospective applicant, EF has some talent, just needs someone to coerce it out

Robinson, Meade & Watson all toiled hard and made solid but not spectacular debuts. 17 year old Dylan Curley showed occasional flashes of brilliance and certainly has a spring in his step. Could be one to watch out for. Cronan was pretty good in his return to the league side too which is a positive moving forward.

Pity the umps didn’t pay Loersch that goal square kick when Gault barrelled him in the last quarter. That would have reduced it to 16 pts, then it would have been interesting to see what happened next. Still they didn’t and that’s footy. Just another coulda, shoulda, woulda moment. At least we showed some heart today, even if it was only Swans. Be nice to show that heart against the top sides.
