Be interested to see what team Wiley turns out round 1 v SD....SD look like they have more than there fair share of talls and EF up back do look a tad short depth wise in the tall brigade. lester-Smith from all reports looked good up back late last year, perhaps with Watson up front now, someone like Jack Perham might head back, though Winton is around too.

Can see the likes of Ellis, Bristow and Watson all interchanging through the FF & CHF positions during a game.....will miss Rob Young that's for sure, touch wood Stokes, Fletcher and Cronan can all step up as ruckmen. I see Boston Williamson is not on EF list any more...has he moved on?....be interested to see if Wiley might blood a few of the youngsters from colts last year like Bennett, Harrold, Strnadica etc.

Hampson has tonsilitis. Read and Bristow doing rehab not full training.

I was impressed with Stokes last year and heard he may be rucking this year. Great leap, agile and can play back.
L.Cronin back this year and doing well...may be our new small forward.
Even better news Tommy Howlett was back on the training track tonight.

A fit and in form Tommy Howlett would be an asset.

Peake isn't playing I heard ???

Howlett would be a definite plus for EF backline if he is back.....not overly tall at 188 but seems to compete well against taller forwards....so I guess on paper with the likes of Howlett, Chartres, Jupp, Lester-Smith, Winton, Chalwell, Read and Stokes available EF does have a few more options v teams with taller guys than first thought.....obviously none are in the Ames or Simpson class but definitely all capable of doing a job thus allowing Watson to play up front and cause some mischief.

Saw pics of Peake on EF facebook last week playing in an intra club match, if he has changed his mind, I reckon with smalls in BOB, Hampson, Simpson and Perry playing along side the likes of talls in watson, Ellis, Bristow and Strnadica up front, Peakes non presence won't be overly missed.

Be interested whether youngsters in Harrold, Newton, Bennett, Cronan, Morton-Smith et al get early look ins under Wiley's watch.......more depth thru the ranks as Strono states than last year that's for sure.....though injuries definitely decimated the reserve ranks last year.

Leedy, Peake was named to play against Claremont tomorrow.

Morton-Smith (nephew of Tony Solin) did a knee pre-season and is out for the season.
