Watson and Crichton are EF two "big" signings so far along side a South West Wesfarmers GF medallist, ex 1st round draft pick in Josh Simpson and a couple of returnees in Chalwell, Cronan, Symonds and Peake who at best will add some meat to EF shallow depth of 2015. Obviously money talks more than simply the name Rob Wiley. Would really like to see another recruit or 3 before the season begins in earnest in a few months time......especially with young tall Jack Cripps heading east to play in the VFL.
ROB still on the list, is that a mere oversight or a deal with money / players is still yet to be done with Peel?....or will christmas goodwill rear its ugly head here in respect to the wonderful service ROB has given the club in his 100 or so games for the club? Surely Duffy's transfer to WP was a lucrative one for EFFC? Is Stephen still mulling over life with Dodd in the SANFL?.....big loss if so.
Obviously the jump from colts to league is a big one.....hopefully the likes of Perry and Hebiton can build on their exposure from 2015.....and other colts standouts in Parish, Bennett, Harrold, Cronan etc can push for some league exposure under Wiley in 2016......that is if they still have the motivation post draft....fingers crossed all these youngsters are pushing hard for a league spot under Wileys tutelage
I see EF are still on the hunt for a forwards coach, I read somewhere Hardingham has left Essendon in the VFL....pretty sure he coached and played there this year....won their goal kicking as well with 40 from all reports....Kyle would certainly be a more than a handy recruit for us on n off the field. Not overly concerned with EF potential forward line for next year....Watson, Ellis, Hampson, BOB, Simpson and even young AIS acadamy player Luke Strnadica provide some options up front...,., through the middle Anthony, Macca, Eardley provide some experience along with Crichton and the developing youth of Green, Barone, Perry et al....top 5 quality remains to be seen......up back I reckon will be EF achilles heel.....no out n out height besides Chartres TBH.....touch wood McPharlin gets itchy feet come Feb and dons the boots......still think the club needs another tall or two to bolster EF ranks....not to sure of it happening......but other clubs are still on the hunt for recruits so hopefully EF is to.
