Last one....thank fark for that....been a miserable last 2/3 of the season. The club has well n truly fallen apart and away over the last 3 months, hard to believe 5/2 was so tangible not so long ago. Touch wood the team can show some fight and passion like they did v Cl a fortnight a go, if they can then they should beat Perth. Perth did well v Peel on Sat but like EF were blown apart by Subi when they played them.

Poor old Dodd must be wondering what this coaching caper is all about......can't see him getting a job anywhere after his EF experience.....Matt Baseden to be EF final debutant for the year perhaps?.....hopefully Ellis and Bristow stay in the key positions to replicate that 10 goal first quarter v Perth when the teams first met......Perth don't sound like they are too tall up back, so hopefully with some of that v CL direct footy, Ellis/Bristow might be able to capitalise and kick a winning score....

got to give Robbie Young a winning send off after all his effort and contribution to the club over his time wearing the blue & white......good luck to the fella, he has been one of EF best ever E.S recruits.....who else will pull the pin?.....would love BOB to go around again.....I reckon he and Hampson would be very handy up front if both were fit....along side a quality tall forward and perhaps some zip of say a Josh Simpson, EF may be able to improve their goal kicking tallies.

Good luck to the colts, gonna end up in 4th I reckon, unless SF pull out a surprise.....pity young goal sneak Luke Strnadica is out for the season with a fractured hand.....sums up EF season over all TBH.....last one.....thank fark for that!

Lamb to the slaughter poor old Dodd. Bloody hard to take over a side halfway through a fractured season.

Dodd took over the side at 5 - 6 Tiger, now they are 5 - 14.....whilst not all his fault and definitely not easy coming in after a coup, he has had a few games to right the ship a bit....sounds like EF match day structures/plans, skill level, decision making etc are worse now...but I hope Dodd doesn't suffer too much career wise with EF current status quo, but TBH can't see many clubs falling over themselves with his current 0/8 record can you?

reckon you might of had 'your" game v Peel on the weekend cesspit ;) .....

With Young odds on to retire, I would like to think the EF boys will do everything in their power to get a win for him.....however, win or lose, it won't change the fact that the season has been a dismal failure for EFFC...

TBH I am more interested in seeing who is on the coaching interview list and who eventually gets the job.....

From what I have heard from different sources even though half of this season has gone to crap that Dodd is still respected amongst the playing group. Perhaps he is still in with a chance if that is the case. A fresh start, a change in game plan, improve our ordinary skill level and a change in personal around him could well turn it all around for him in 2016.

Youngy has always been a fav of mine at Easts. He was the only 4 quarter player for East against Subi last week.
He tried his guts out all day and went down forward in the last and offered something there as well. A big hearted big guy who has been a top recruit for the Sharks. Although not the most skilful he always gives 100% and that's all a coach, teamates and supporters can ask.
A win for the big fella would be very fitting if he's decided to call it a day?

I couldn't agree more Freeze. What a disappointing season considering the start we had.

I also have heard the playing group have taken to Doddy, however the results have been very poor for the best part of his reign. I know we have blooded a heap of kids and they will be better for the run, but IMO I think we need to go with a proven coach and probably a Fitzgearld or Wiley does sound likely. Either of these two you would hope would be able to attract a few quality recruits from over East which would also put them ahead of other local candidates.

Players that could be back at the club next season and back from injury:-
Hampson
Dorotich
Simpson
Dalziell
Regan
Brennan
Howlett
Symonds
Harry Marsh

We have also had a heap of injuries to development players that has hurt our depth as well. The club stated there were 20 season ending injuries...not too sure how many were regular players but either way that is unbelievable!!!

We need to recruit:-
- a quality ruckman...though I do like Stokes and the developing Fletcher.
- a big power forward to release pressure off Bristow & Ellis.
- a KP backman.

We have a slow midfield. Anthony, ROB, Eardley, Henson, McNamara, Schofield, Schleicher, Green, Hooker, Barone are all good runners but none are quick. I would play Brock in the middle...very quick off the mark and exceptional low to the ground with a penetrating kick.

I have also noticed the mids get there fair share of the ball most times than not, yet we don't go inside 50 near enough??? Perhaps our game plan is all wrong - if we have one??? I also think our mids are not accountable and we need to become a more defensive team to stop how many goals we leak regularly.

Anyway that's my take on where we're at. Let's hope we can finish on a high last game, start building on a solid pre season and bounce back to a successful season in 2016.

Definitely agree about the lack of leg speed Rock.....hopefully Simpson can be enticed back to provide that x factor/speed too, not to sure the speed of the likes of Snadden, Bennett, Perry etc coming through from the colts, haven't read anywhere that they are quick off the mark.

Going to be a crucial decision coaching wise for the EFFC this next one. It's coming up to 20 years without a flag, heading into SDFC waters here, very much uncharted for this club....definitely need a change of fortune before the club begins to dip it's toes in the waters Perth are currently swimming in and Subi did before their 73 flag....very different circumstances in terms of a quick turn around these days due to AFL influences and financial climates......

hopefully the club can make a early decision coaching wise without rushing of course, so all concerned can start mapping out recruiting, game plans and strategies for next season.....interesting to see if the club returns earlier than usual for pre season....real emphasis on reducing the alarming number of injuries this year, bonding between new coach, existing players and newbies......recruiting will always be hampered by the draft....

I went to the Boxhill game on Sat....Sam Grimley looks a good size and James Sicley had a fantastic pair of hands on him and kicked 7/8 goals....both are Hawk listed but from all reports been on their list for a good few years with little success.....watched Yarren play too for the Northern Blues....geez that fella looked so disinterested it was embarrassing......obviously talented but gonna be interested to see who takes a punt on him AFL wise....Perth's ex in Clem Smith kicked 3 goals in a lively performance for a side that got beaten by over 10 goals, one to watch for 2016 for carlton me thinks...tad skinny though.
