well here we are for the final derby of the year.....a lot has changed since these two teams last met.....both teams have spiralled in fortunes....one upwards the other downwards.....be interested to see whether EF can break their derby drought at EF oval and their current losing streak.....

For SF with their tough run home, the derby is a must win, lose v EF and they will be under the pump to score wins in their remaining games against sides above them....EF are mathematically still alive but the moons would certainly have to align for EF to secure a finals berth.Interesting to read Dodds comments on the EF facebook site, a lot of glossing over that loss with players being injured in the game, hitting the lead in the last etc etc....failed to mention the deplorable kicking for goal for the umpteenth time this season......

Dorotich is obviously out, good move by Dodd to have Lester-Smith go back, could be a Tommy Howlett result one hopes.....Howson and Cripps apparently did well up back in the reserves win, not too sure if that is a long term initiative or simply a confidence building expedition.....Bristow apparently struggled, whilst Fletcher did well.....for me Fletcher is EF number one ruckman for 2016, why not get games into him for the rest of 2015.....Young is there to help out and his height could be useful up front.

Good win by the reserves in a tough injury ridden season, touch wood the wins keep coming and some players can keep pushing for some league footy.....The colts from the sounds of things had their worst game of the year.....is it a blip?....hopefully......touch wood they get regroup and push to secure a top 3 finish for that second chance.......

Derby's are always hard to predict, SF go in very warm favourites....both teams need a win for differing reasons....EF more so for mental health reasons I think....SF lose and if results go against them could find themselves potentially consigned to not playing finals footy for another season......their 4th on the trot.....

East Fremantle have to win this derby or they are gone for the season. However Freezin don't forget they still have 2 games to come against Perth.

TBH Cesspit I can see Perth at least winning one of those clashes....ever since that 10 goal first quarter v Perth EF season has gone down hill...you guys are due a win, don't think Hampson will be back this season, if he was I would back him and BOB to kick a few goals against Perth's defence......

Going off EF website it looks like Stokes is out and Bristow and Henson are injury concerns.....talk of a 14th debutant, but not too sure who in the reserves that would be....Bannister perhaps?.....what's the deal with Perry?....kicked 3 on debut v SD and hasn't resurfaced since....not even in the colts......thought he had a minor hip flexor strain?.....

Back in town this weekend before a quick trip east to watch one of the girls go around Caulfield next Saturday. Finally get a chance to enjoy a few in Pit, so here's hoping the Sharks actually turn up for the first time in 2 months. Speaking to a couple of the old '85 boys yesterday and seems your on the money Freeze, Bannister got the nod and will be the 14th for the year. Must admit his not one I've heard much about, but saying that it goes for the majority running round these days.

Good luck to any player who gets selected to play legue football, however if the club is now giving games to players after 6 games of reserves with very average results i think we are in a lot of trouble.Players need to put together a solid block of form before getting picked in my view.
Green, barone, ellis, holmes, schleicher and others all put in long apprentiships. We are not talking about David Swallow types walking in and dominating. The club needs a couple of wins not a @#$/^ hail mary.Having said that good luck to him and cross your fingers.

Be interested to see who survives the final cull.......for me I'd like to see Barone, Read, Fletcher and Riccardiello/Anthony........reckon it will be Cuneo, Read, Henson and Perham.......though Henson and Bristow were reported to have niggles from the Peel game........goals once again look a problem.......from all reports LesterSmith looked good in defence, hopefully he stays there........

Simple case of one team being able to score at both ends of the ground and the other unable to.......amazing to think it was the home team who was the one who couldnt  ........kudos to SF in an important game for them they backed a colts player to debut and he steps up to kick 3.......alas Pickett or Garlett from last year......hopefully SF dont have another one lurking in the colts for next year Derby III clash!

Gutted to lose again!.......but 5 first year boys on the park and only beaten by 8 points after leading into the last by a team well in contention for a finals spot.......similar to the Peel game last week.......so there is hope I guess.......hopefully BOB fixes up his radar after the bye tho.......would rather him kick 6 goals from 8 shots rather than 3.5 and 4.4!

Did the reserves boys stay in the sheds after half time..,..big worry a side can only kick 1 point after half time......they seem to be more than competitive up until then.......great win by the colts especially after a 1 point opening stanza......cant afford to do that v SD or Cl colts boys and win tho.....

Last bye of a very forgettable season that looked pretty hopefull at 5 -2 some weeks back.....can only push on be competitive and get more games into the youngsters for next year.......more prospective debutants before the season is out........Cripps, Dwyer, Snadden, Zurhaar and Adamini perhaps?.......Is Hampson finished for the year?
