I rarely miss an EF game but unfortunately due to Mother's Day commitments I was unable to attend. If it had been scheduled for a normal start time of 2.15pm I would have been there. I appreciate the reason why Channel 7 scheduled it for 11.40am to lead into the Eagles game.

why couldn't they televise a WAFL game Staurday arvo at the normal time? the Dockers didn't play until 6:30 so there wouldn't have been a scheduling clash....why a Sunday game?

Great start by EF with 10 goals in the 1st qtr but to Perth's credit they actually played well and took it right up to us. Crowd was disappointing but no surprise with a lunchtime game on Mothers Day it was always going to be tough.
Stevo did a hammy but not too serious; McNamara will be right for this week; Dalzeill should be right for the derby; Jupp might be a silly chance this week but if not he'll be right for the derby; Schleicher minor knee from the derby and might be right this week. Great 1st game for the season by McGough but was reported and might be in trouble. Cripps & Solomon should come back into the ressies this week. Stokes did a hammy at training last week but not sure how serious. Howson was the runner for the ressies on the weekend and hopefully not too far away. Lindsay & Crisafio might be right for the derby as well.
All in all quite a few to come back to add depth back to the club.

Yep, a mate I always go with wasn't able to go because of mothers day commitments as well. I know its only one person, however how many others in the same boat? When you consider typical crowd numbers, 40 or 50 can make a difference.

It's interesting freeze, I know I and others felt that the move was a sure thing to the "concrete roundabout", but it may not be so. When I attended the Jack Sheedy dinner a couple of weeks back, I was sitting next to the CEO of EF Todd Shimmon.(spelling?) and chatting to him, he was saying that there was another option being explored as well. This being a Claremont type renovation that involves housing towards the bowling club area and commercial type buildings. I'm not sure much more about it and obviously he didn't go into great details but I thought that was interesting.

Having said that though while at the game on Sunday I was talking to the Junior development coordinator and we got onto the subject of relocation and I stated what Todd had said, and his reply was "I think he's clutching at straws" and there's no way that will happen.

I guess at the end of the day, we will have to wait and see.

what was wrong with scheduling the game on the regular time slot on Saturday arvo which we all prefer
no wonder no-one turned up on sunday/mothers day....unbelievable!
was our club to blame here? hope not as they dug there own hole with crowd attendance or was there a flip side with tv coverage and kick back with sponsors?????

I've heard the move to Freo will happen. As EF oval is an A class reserve we will still use the ground to train on and still have some facilities to utilise.
