Well done to Subi on showing EF what the benchmark for success is going to be this year....obviously not at the game, but 3 relatively even scoring quarters before that 7 goal blow out to Subi. It was pretty obvious Subi had more options up front than EF......great to see young Brandon Ellis kick 5 tho, hopefully it not only kick starts his season but also his career.

Can anyone tell us how EF structure their forwards?....just noticed Lester-Smith had 7 inside 50s.....is he playing off a wing?....perhaps EF need to ruck with youngsters in Fletcher and Stokes and play Young up front in a FP....be interested to see how Cripps and Howson go when they return from injury, both are 197 + and potentially along with Ellis EF future forwards.....

That reserves side which Subi smashed, seemed awfully small, hopefully some height returns soon from the sidelines in regards to Bristow, Singh, Piggot, Solomon, Cripps and Howson.......how did Schleicher and Regan go?.....hopefully they are persisted with once the likes of Anthony, Hampson and Mcgough come back.

....never nice to lose, but Subi are the comps benchmark, for 3/4 EF matched them on the scoreboard.....and Ellis did well to kick 5........good win by the colts, great to see that young tall forward Strnadica kick a few......beats me why SF would let a 199cm kid go?....all to EF good fortune I guess :cheer:

Ellis was impressive. Lester-Smith usually goes ok against us but i thought Worthington did a pretty good job. Was a good game for a half but with our 3rd it was always going to be an uphill battle for you to get back into it even with the strong wind. Missing fairly simple shots early in the 4th didn't help your cause either. I thought for the best part of the 4th we controlled it, against the breeze.

East seemed to be rotating their mids through the forward line. Lestersmith played his usual half forward role. Brock O'Brien played in the midfield and was involved in that rotation up forward as well which was probably due to the absence of Anthony. Don't think they can afford to have him away from half back as there seemed to be a lack of run with no one else being able to create from that part of the ground, this could be an area that may need to be addressed this season with no Dodd. Possibly Lestersmith or even young Regan could develop in this role moving forward. Brandon Ellis great game and showed he has the ability to develop into a key forward . Schleicher had a very good first half and kept us in it around the contest against a very good opposition mid field, and hopefully will keep his position next week. Regan once again did some good things and deserves another crack next week, maybe even off half back as mentioned. Bit of a tough one with Anthony back next week and who will need to step aside from this weeks side.

East Fremantle had a very disappointing fade out in the 3rd quarter, after a very competitive first have. Subiaco also did the same to Claremont the previous week, so you would think the Sharks would have been ready for it. The ball seemed to be almost entirely in Subiaco's have in the 3rd quarter.

The Sharks will also have to sharpen up on their shots at goal, they are missing too many shots that should not be missed. We were also wasteful against a depleted Eagle's reserves side last week, but luckily they were so poor that it didn't cost us except percentage. Better conversion would certainly have reduced the margin of defeat.

Shane Yarran has the best hands in his opponent's back I have ever seen. He is so good at it that none of the umpires even saw him doing it. I would be interested to hear if anybody else noticed him doing it as well.

Yarran was penalised three times for hands in the back puppy so not sure where you're getting the idea the umps didn't see it.

Ando it was only against the Munchers so they probably barely raised a sweat.

good even game in the first half...thought we missed a few easy shots at goal...perham especially
needed to hold them in the 3rd qt as they had a strong breeze but not to be...they blew the game apart and we went goaless - didn't even look like it
kicked the first goal in the opening seconds and thought....hold ya tickets but not to be

look fwd to all the players that have been missing the first 2 rnds to come back and we we will be a force in all 3 teams this season!

Just out of curiosity Strono who in your opinion should go from the current side to make way for Anthony, Bristow, Hampson, T Bristow and possibly the inclusion of Fletcher if they are all fit to play ? Not sure if I have missed any other player you consider should be back in.
